This may not be fair, but those few on here that are knowledgeable about online books and where they stand financially should go ahead and give us their lists of what books may possibly be the next to go under. I understand these opinions will probably cause some, or several disagreements, but I know there are a few of you that keep up with this stuff, and have opinions on which ones may be in danger next. I think it's only fair that the rest of us are aware of such in order to make good judgements as to where we want our money being held to prevent any problems in the future. Thanks.......

Very good question from months past that nobody cared to comment on.

Anybody in the know on anything currently?

just an observation....be wary of ANY new book that starts up this time of year....in fact avoid completely...no legit book would dare open up during bases....

the problem with a book that might be on the edge of going under.....its probably not going to happen during bases.....(reason..bases is the slowest time of year for books, and limits are low-enough, and a book that is on the "edge" most likely doesnt have much of a baseball book to begin with)......

as with years past......late football season is usually when trouble starts....jmo

stay away from those books who use a third party software (extra Data proccesing company)

Stay away from those books who have a poor design page.

Stay away from those books who use Costa Rican made software.

as poor they are.. as poor they pay.

We are out of the woods for awhile I think. What will be more interesting is to see which books might get competitive and lower the juice come next year's football. Some might think that is a bad sign, but my feeling is you will get a sense of some strong books if they go to the reduced juice model.

One thing is for sure it is next to impossible to start a good book right now. All the mass marketing opportunities are gone, the dark cloud of Panam still is there, and most of all the stigma of a new book is obviously strong and it would take a lot of guts to try it. I could see some spinoff type books, things like Betjamaica or Lay107 where a well-known book helps out. Otherwise a new stand-alone book is really facing a tough road.

Books are always around. Its when they start a heavy marketing campiagn or buy a high profile ad slot like here or on DB that they consider themselves officially open.

Books that are not well off at this point are trying to make it to football season.
