@mrganja dont' believe I did. What was the name of it. I usually hit the bars downtown closer to Rupp. Cheapside is a popular spot for me. Bluegrass Tavern is a fairly new (3-5 years) bourbon bar down the block from Cheapside. I like it there too.
As for the comments about UK being #1.... I realize that. My point is they're not just a #1 ranked team. This team is really really special. Probably 6 first rounders on the team. They're not just #1 team in the nation good, they're pretty fucking special good.

@mrganja Funny you mention Spivey.... I was having a talk with my book last week and he was telling me about how his dad used to work for Ed Curd, who is one of the father's of the point spread, and the bookie Spivey was caught up with in the point shaving scandal back in the early 50s. My bookie, who took the business from his dad, is now affiliated with some of Ed Curd's old crew. If you've not heard of Ed Curd here's a link

thanks for the interestin history jagwood. bill spivey was a gambler and a hard drinker but a really good guy.i was a painting contractor in lex and would stop at his place daily..at 7 ft he was a big mfer. nobody ever started any crap in his place.lol..he loved the ponies...ever go to the red mile?..name of his bar was spiveys. small place with 2 pool tables and you could get a bet down on anything.
