Enough with how good USC is and how they should play in the BCS National Championship Game. As they do every year they lose to an unranked team. How do you lose to Washington?? Please. USC sucks! Not the same team of years past. Should of probably lost at Ohio State. They got outplayed all game there. Washington said "They are who we thought they were"! Not the USC of old.

Said it last week, anyone besides Jim Tressel Coaching OSU and Ohio State wins by at least 14.

Florida would rape USC this. Cal will beat them.

I think Cal will be the fave.

Honestly, anyone watching USC last week had to know how bad they are. They looked like and average football team.

If the Jersey didn't say USC, they would have been about a 4 point fave.

ya they should have won the game, but i think its stupid of everyone to judge a team based on how they lose with their BACKUP in. you could see it in the players, they hated looking in the backfield and seeing corp standing their, even barkley was trying to warmup and play thru the pain becuse he knew corp had balls the size of poppy seeds (i dont think barkley is the greatest qb either but that is a different story). another thing, yes washington was useless last year, but they are a completly new team this year. they have alot of new recruits that usc was going after also, do you know why that is? let me tell you, the new washington coach is the old assistant coach for usc. do you think he knows any of usc's secrets, ill bet you he does. im not saying he knew everything htey were going to do, but i can promise you he was better prepared than any other coach in college football. again im not saying usc should have lost, or that any of what i said is an excuse im just saying this isnt as bad of a loss as people make it out to seem (maybe i should say its not as big of a surprise)

i swear sometimes sports bettors are oblivious to shit they should fully understand.

Corp was awful. Barkley looked like he was ready for prime time with how he handled his offense at crunch time. Couldn't ask for more from him vs the best defense Tressel could put together for that game. Corp left a lot to be desired today. Sad. Carroll didn't pull Corp but he probably should have and plugged Barkley in, I think he would have done much better even with a partially "jacked up" shoulder. Please put the phenom back in and take Tedford's underachievers out before someone embarrasses Cal on the national stage. However I do have them 80-1 in the NC. Conflict of interest there. Nevermind.

What did he do, get the ball to McKnight.

I know you are Pac 10 homer, but learn to look at the game objectively. Barkley didn't really do much vs OSU as well. Completed less than 50% of his passes.

If not for McKnight, USC is 1-2 and thanks to Field Goal Jimmy Tressel playing not to lose.

Yes, Barkley will be great next year, but he is slightly better than an average qb. That is not criticism, but he is still very young and raw, but will eventually become great.

Same old, same old....USC drops an in conference game as a near 3 TD Fav.

Now they will proceed to roll everyone and still be the best team in the country come January. (Even though they probably won't be in the BCS Championship game).

Pac-10 owns.

USC is not winning out, if you think so, you haven't seen them play.

Only someone who didn't see the end of the USC/OSU game could say that (unless someone has an agenda he isn't mentioning.) After 56 minutes of being knocked around by OSUs defense, right after a big loss when he was sacked at his own 14 yard line with 4 minutes left on the clock, Barkley goes back into the huddle with a smile on his face and says "OK let's do this." Then he leads his team down the field to score the winning TD.

You left out a few facts. Sorry if that was an inconvenience to you and your version of what happened.

Keep telling yourself that.

Did you watch the last drive. He complete a 5 yard pass in the air to McKnight who did all the work.

He completed 3 passes on the drive. Did not attempt a pass on the final 7 plays of the drive, but you are right, he did it all.

Between you and Chris Paradise, I can't figure who suffers from greater visual impairment.

OK, you are so sure of your opinion of him, then how about a list of freshman QB's that pulled of what Barkley did on the final drive in his first game (on the road?) Minimum 3 passes is fair, like you pointed out. You sound like you know your stuff then lets see you demonstrate just how average a guy like him really is.

Prove it. List please. Name even just one or two.

Read what I posted about Barkley. I stated he will be very good, but he is not the superstar that you all marking him out to be right now. Yes, he is is a freshman, but there is are reason he couldn't complete 50% of his passes. Yes, he was the qb on the winning drive and Trent Dilfer was a SB winning QB. Just because he won the Super Bowl, doesn't make him better than 50% of the qbs around league, just like it doesn't make Barkely better than most qb, at least not yet.

Then there must be dozens you can list. I'm waiting. He led the offense on a winning drive in his first game and he hit 3 receivers in stride doing it. He even told his offense "lets do this" then he did so after being beaten all game long. A final winning drive. Average guys don't do that, rarely if ever at all in their careers. Maybe it was just one game but that was what he was expected to do by those who have watched him for a lot longer than you have.

No list? Just your opinion that he's not what everyone else has to say about him? At least you can show a list of guys like him or better to prove your point. But you haven't, you just colored your details that leave out the heroics to make your point. That's not good enough. Do your homework and lets see a list if you want to stand by what you say. Even just one or two "average" QB's that outperformed him in their debut... much lest as a true freshman. Surely you have something more than just an opinion to throw out there.

I'll help you, Forcier just this year. He's just average too right? Who else?

You can't really compare Barkley to anyone else, how many other freshman have played against what many call the greatest o-line ever and a stable of 4-5 5* running back recruits. They are so loaded Marc Tyler never sees the field.
From high school to spring ball Barkley was a turnover machine, I don't see that changing.

OK fair enough TKE. But then again, this spring and onward from there, Corp was a near perfect "non-turnover" machine and look at what happened to him when the chips were down. He had the same OL and backfield too. I think part of the point is that Barkley is unflappable. To his credit. Ice in his veins.

I say give Barkley some credit, but I want to see more than one drive. I saw Corp in high school as well, he was another one I did not get being so hyped, he made most of his big plays off of scramble type moves and he is a good not great athlete so that won't work for him in college.
I knew the loss of Norm Chow would catch up with them and I think we are finally seeing it.

How many other qbs are playing with future NFL players like D Wills, Joe MCK, Staf John, an NFL offensive line?

I will patiently be waiting your answer. Come tell how great Barkley is after USC loses to Cal.
