I'm glad the snow is white. I'm sure it helps your outlook on life. If it were black..........oh boy, we'd be in for another story.

Been thru that stuff 36 years growing up in Michigan. This is my first winter here in outside of there, now in Las Vegas. I just told my mom today that today was one ofthe most beautiful days I have ever seen weather wise in my life. Sunny 65 degrees or so, zero wind or humidity, not a cloud in the sky. It was breathtaking. The funny thing is there have been at least 15 other days this "winter" exactly like it.

I think I am finally beginning to understand when people ask or comment on why someone would choose to be in an area that has terribile winter weather 4-5 months out of the year. It is so depressing. I cant imagine living like that again if I can help it. It's a wonder why those areas have that many people living there, I guess it would have too be one's family.

CEDAR FALLS (KWWL) -- The total snow amount for the Waterloo-Cedar Falls area between midnight and 6 AM was three inches. The amount was reported to the National Weather Service Early this morning. By passing the two inch mark those who bought furniture during the Simpson Furniture promotion will recieve a check in the amount of the furniture they purchased.

Most of us are hoping that the snow will stay away, but some local furniture customers are saying, let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.

Simpson Furniture in Cedar Falls held a promotion at the end of December that if snowed two inches on January 14th, those customers who bought furniture would get it for free.

Furniture shoppers looking for some after Christmas savings may have stumbled upon the best deal of the year. Customers at Simpson Furniture like Chris Murphy wish they would have spent a little more.

"When they told us about the promotion we thought well maybe with the kind of weather we've been having and as soon as it got closer to the day we got better forecasts for the snow and it's the first time in my life I've ever wished for snow I think," Murphy said.

"We did a promotion to wrap up our last month of the year form December 27th to December 31st of which we offered free furniture to anybody who bought if it snowed on January 14th," President of Simpson Furniture, Dale Emmert said.

Nick Pederson of Cedar Falls lost most of his possessions during the floods of 2008 and he is finally trying to replace all of the things he lost.
"So this was finally good fortune coming my way. It was great so I'll probably be out side at midnight with a ruler and trying some kind of snow dance," Pederson said.

"They will get their check within 30 days. They'll have no charge at all except for delivery and tax, Emmert said.

"It will be the first thing I'll do when I get up and look at the Weather Channel or KWWL and find out what the snow fall was so far," Murphy said.
If it does snow two inches tomorrow, the company that put on the promotion for Simpson Furniture will pay for all of the items that were sold. Company officials say they are just as excited as their customers.
