and is not going away. Kerry is trying to stop the sale of the book, bad move. It will only draw more attention to the book.

There has to be atleast 10 books out right now that are bashing Bush and Bush just takes it like a man. There's one book that is trying to get the facts out about Kerrys Vietnam record and Kerry is fighting the distribution of the book.

One day Kerry says "BRING IT ON!!!"
The next: "MAKE IT STOP!!!!"

He can't handle the political heat.

Only 10? This number seems low considering most people have seen what Bush is capable of and pretty much know what to expect out of him.....

Regardless of what you think about Kerry's service in Vietnam there are two irrefutable truths.

1) When the time came to back one's patriotic mouth up with some action Kerry showed up and Bush didn't.
2) John Kerry has shrapnel in his leg.

I'll leave it to the "swift - boat politicians for lies" to explain how #2 might have happened. My theory: maybe, just maybe Kerry felt the kind of fire that Bush never has or ever will know.

John Kerry is an idiot for making this such an election issue, and now he's paying the price. Simple as that

I am not a member of either party, Dem or Repub. This whole Swift Boat matter reminds me once again that the Repubs are notorious for shooting themselves in the foot. Or snatching defeat right from the jaws of victory. They let petty idealogs ruin things with their hypocricy.

For example, Bob Bennett, the former drug czar. A sanctimonious ass if there ever was one. Authors the Book of Virtues. Goes around speaking ill of Democrats. Turns out the guy is a degenerate gambler. Pisses away thousands and thousands of dollars on drunken binges playing slot machines!! Classic Republican. They just don't get it.

Or take Rush Limbaugh. Another sanctimonious right wing blow-hard. Also a fat ass. Turns out he's a drug addict. The only thing that guy proves is that people can, and do work quite well when they are high.

How about Donald Rumsfeld. We need only say 3 things - Weapons of Mass Destruction, Mission Accomplished, and Abu Graib.

And last but not least, Dick Cheney. One word: Halliburton. Turns out there was a big accounting scandal on his watch, long before the sweet heart contracts in Iraq.

Don't fret Kerry fans. The Repubs just don't get it. They are blinded by self interest, and desperately need to demonize their opponents. What else do they have? Certainly not their own record!

This thing is like Dan Quayle telling the 6th grader that he didn't know how to spell potato. Quayle said it was p-o-t-a-t-o-e. What a bunch of weenies.

This election is not going to be won or lost on the character issue. Something unforseen is going to emerge and tip the scales between Labor Day and Halloween. Nobody knows what that is, but it's always a strange thing that nobody saw coming. They can piss at each other all they want and in the end, it won't amount to a hill of beans. Repubs just like to be nasty because they are so miserable.

No one gives a shit about who is a veteran and who isn't. McGovern had a better war record than Nixon...didn't win him many votes. Carter had Reagan outpointed...no big deal. Bush had Clinton...didn't help him out. Dole had Clinton, and even campaigned on his record (unlike the others), but he still got beat. Gore had Bush...he still lost (veterans didn't seem to care either). And now Kerry has Bush beat...so why are veterans overwhelmingly in favor of Bush?

No one cares, especially when you are running with such an anti-military group as the Democrats have become over the last few years.

What about Bush's reaction to the publication of Fortunate Son?

Phadrus,

If true it doesn't change the fact that there's 10-20 times the amount of Bush bashing going on and very little is done or said to deter it by President Bush. Now Kerry has one book that is attempting to set the record straight and the Kerry campaign is trying to censore these honorably discharged Vets.
