if you dont like the rule youre a dope. its basketball. learn how to play or get off the court.
There's some validity to the idea that it's part of the game but the NBA is first and foremost in the entertainment business. I would guess your average viewer doesn't enjoy watching Deandre Jordan take 10 consecutive FTs. In that sense, it's bad for business and you're going to see the rule changed whether you like it or not.

Fouling off the ball is the joke and why the rule is getting changed. It isn't a basketball play. It is total bush league nonsenseThey are fouling you and giving you 2 uncontested shots for free points.....and you want the rule changed because the guy cant make them? Absolute joke
Does dirk have a problem shooting the tennis ball? Dumbest comment of the century seriously.
Just doing a little research is proving me correct. A player is rewarded financially for scoring more than any other stat....so if it was easy to improve their free throw shooting they would. Other factors are included but hand size is a major factor. When you add that 7 footers like shaq, deandre, Dudley are never called upon to shoot outside of 6 feet. A guy like Dirk is. Additional factors apply but the poor free throw shooters throughout the years all agree that hand size is their biggest detrimentPeople who dont practice SHOOTING are whats ruining the game. Do u watch basketball often?
Yeah. Pop is as good as there is. It hurts the game for sure.I'm ambivalent about the issue, and that's using the true meaning of the word ambivalent (it means being pulled in two directions on an issue).
I think if you're a pro basketball player getting paid millions to play the game, you should be able to hit a friggen free-throw.
But, I do think it somewhat hurts the beauty/flow of the game.
I also love Popovich's attitude that he doesn't give a fuck what people think, and he's going to do everything he can to win a ballgame. I think he's the best NBA basketball
coach I've seen in my lifetime, and that includes Phil Jackson.
