Im not against putting up barriers in areas of high traffic, but to think just putting up a wall completely along our southern border will solve all this is a bit naive. The drug cartel smuggles much if not most of their drugs right thru our POE, so a wall won’t stop the drugs from flowing in. If you think the drug lords will just close up shop because of a wall, we’ll that just won’t happen. Another problem is a very large percentage of immigrants come here legally but then overstay their welcome by not completing the process, just stay here illegally and we do nothing about it. Those are 2 big problems a wall won’t fix. Standing there yelling, “We need a wall” over and over again saying it will solve the problem isn’t the right way.
I agree a wall won't solve all the immigration problems, not by a long shot.
However, it will make entry more difficult, and thats all its really supposed to do. People and drugs will find other ways, but it will make it harder.
My problem with the left is that 5.4B or whatever he's asking for is small potatoes. And with their history of flip flopping on this subject, it's really about Trump more than anything else.
With that being said I believe in Democracy and the landowners on the border should have direct input on whether a wall goes up on their property or not.
If a landowner wants one, they should get it. If they don't, then don't build on their property.
