5 star... rappers are farrrr more explicit then any Van Morrison song.
Its easy to know what rappers are talking about because they are rather blunt.
I bet if you asked 100 high school kids what Brown Eyed Girl was about, they wouldn't have a clue.
Now I don't wanna hit no women when this chick's got it coming
Someone better get this bitch before she gets kicked in the stomach
And she's pregnant, but she's egging me on, begging me to throw her
Off the steps on this porch, my only weapon is force
-- Eminem
If you'd lie for me, like you lovin me
Baby say yeah
If you'd die for me, like you cry for me,
Baby say yeah
If you'd kill for me, like you comfort me,
Baby say yeah,
Girl I'm convinced, you're my down ass bitch
-- Ja Rule
I need me a chick, who ain't scared to flirt
I need me a chick in the middle of the grocery store she'll lift up her skirt
I need me a chick, like I need my crew
I need me a chick to pass on to my boys soon as I get through
-- Nate Dogg
I mean come on! Are they serious with these lyrics? Sorry man, but this is not the social norm... this is border line taboo. Im only saying this because I grew up when hip hop was growing at a super fast rate, and all the kids (I went to a white school) mostly acted like they were black and could get away with doing half the shit they do.
The fact that these rappers get looked upon god-like celebrities is beyond me. And to top it off, they win awards.
I remember when Back That Ass Up came out. That basically was the beginning of girls wearing their thongs outside of their jeans in school.
Like I said, Im talking in the perspective of me having a daughter living in a hip hop society... I dont have a daughter, but if I did............
