Make sure there are no weddings planned, and must-see concerts will have to be missed. Sept. 17-19 is an early weekend that will require multiple TVs.

Thursday

Clemson at Louisville:
Big early matchup in the ACC. And what a way to kick off the weekend.

Friday

Florida State at Boston College:
Friday night games rarely involve power conference teams, and FSU will be breaking in a new quarterback.

Saturday

Auburn at LSU:
OK, Auburn, let’s see what you’ve got. LSU needs this one and Auburn can’t afford an early loss. Salivating yet?

Nebraska at Miami:
There was a lot of bad blood spilled on the field last year when these two teams played. It will be a great early indicator where these teams are heading.

Georgia Tech at Notre Dame:
It will be fascinating to watch the Irish try to handle the option attack and to watch the Yellow Jackets try to get revenge for “Rudy.”

South Carolina at Georgia:
This has blossomed into one of the great rivalries in the SEC. And these two teams have played some great games in recent years. Big one in the SEC East.

Stanford at USC:
Are the Trojans legitimate contenders for a national title? We’ll know more after they battle the Cardinal.

BYU at UCLA:
Two fiery coaches with two really good teams set the tone for their seasons.

Ole Miss at Alabama:
Bryant-Denny Stadium will be rocking as the Tide try to get revenge and establish themselves as the team to beat in the SEC West.

Decent games, but certainly not the best weekend of the season. Florida State @ Boston College may be interesting for a half. 'Bama will blow out Ole Miss. Nebraska @ Miami in a battle of the wanna-be's. Certainly not the worst weekend, but certainly not the best.

I agree coach. Hope LSU beats the piss out of the whore eagle. Spurrier owns UGA but the talent level is shifting to the dawgs....as long as the QB don't lose the game for the silver britches

Week 3 should be decent. There are not a lot of elite OOC match-ups this year. I am going to Atlanta that weekend, not sure if to go to SC/UGA or Miss/Bama. There really is no such thing as a bad college football Saturday.

If your staying in Atlanta for the weekend why would you consider going to Tuscaloosa? Go spend a full day in Athens. It's a late game so the classic city will be rocking. The drive back to ATL after the game will suck tho.

Open week ain't bad. A number of big name schools square off with each for their first game.

South Carolina vs North Carolina
Michigan @ Utah
TCU @ Minnesota

Louisville vs Auburn
Arizona vs Texas A&M
BYY @ Nebraska
Texas @ Notre Dame
Wisconsin vs Alabama

Ohio State @ Virginia Tech

looking forward to the bama game.. really curious to see what ole miss does this year, probably could say the same for Tennessee.. they wont sneak up on anyone this year. it is easy to win when your not expected to win.. lets see what those two can do .. will be rooting for both to have nice seasons. i think my friends son @ ole miss ( engram ) can look to the future if he has a good year.

Ole Miss' season will depend on how well the new QB performs. They should easily be an 8 win team....but anything over that will be a heck of a coaching job.

Agree on Tennessee. They are on a lot of radar's and won't surprise anyone. I'd be surprised if they don't win 8 games....in fact, they could win the East.

top to bottom sec will be tough once again and the best conference in the country.. i could care a less about bowl game results, there are so many variables in play. I look at the body of work, not a one game snapshot..will be a great year to watch sec football every week a heavy weight fight

That September 19 game where Ole Miss travels to Tuscaloosa will tell us a lot about the Rebs. After Alabama gave the game away in Oxford last year, they will be eagerly awaiting with some payback.

Ole Miss has some damn good players...just not sure they have enough of them to be considered a threat for the SEC West. Looks like the new quarterback will be JUCO transfer Chad Kelley, the nation's number one junior college quarterback. I agree with Coach, how he performs will play a huge role in how well Ole Miss season goes.

Bucks, agree. The SEC will be good....but there's no dominant team (obvious team), so this could be a 2-loss champion type of year.

Yes, Bama will be looking for revenge. If that line is less than 7 I might POUND Bama! I didn't know Kelly was the top JUCO QB. That's good news for them.

Don't sleep on Auburn. HC is an offensive wizard, and new DC excels was great at Texas and Florida on that side of the ball.
