Have some guys give him a message. 2 guys can wait for him out side of his house and have a calm conversation with him about manners, respect, civility. They can gently tell him that he needs to buckle up. In a parting gesture one of the guys can show him their left hand with a missing pinky. The guy can say that is what happened to him when he didnt buckle down. He'll get the message.

Found myself in the same situation about 4 years ago ICE. Control freaks suck.

Walked away and haven't worked for anybody since. Never been happier.

Look into going into biz for yourself. With the huge tax advantages of being SE, "only" making $50K a year is like making $90K as a slave. Lots of opportunites right under your nose.

Don't rely on gambling as your main income source unless you have a minimum 10xs your bankroll in liquidity to back it up. Use your winnings as a supplement. Just my .02

don't want to go into too full details but it is a commision structured job where you make a pct of the money that you in turn make for the company. No hourly or salary, all commission.

Somewhat a pyramid system and I am pretty high up and also make a cut off of other guys. Sort of like sales would be 1 way to describe it. These changes (which I have others already doing these jobs) would be more harder work for me and guys would lose their jobs. There is no company budget as each employee makes his own check based on how much revenue he brings in for the company and in turn I will have to take time out of my day doing something I make fast money on and now spend time making less, working harder.

think about how many people would give their left nut to make 100,000k a year.

most people kill themselves for 2k a month. consider yourself lucky. shitty bosses are everywhere.

the grass isn't always greener.

good luck

There are alot of people putting up with way more shit making significantly less money than you ICE. It's a little vague what it is your boss is putting you through, but It would have to be absolutely terrible to make you walk away from a 6 figure job. Is he making you have sex with him after hours?:ughhh:

don't get me wrong. I have worked for quite a few people in my life and have never had a problem with them. This is beyond anything I could describe. Cut throat is a light term.

Hard to say without knowing the exact situation. One question I have is this and I don't want this to sound like an asshole but you do spend a lot of time doing this stuff and I assume much of it is during your work day? Is it merely a coincidence your relationships at work have gone south since your increase in the gambling stuff has launched? If it is affecting your work in any way, maybe you need to step back and look at how you really make your significant money. Gambling is a tough industry to make money in for most people. There aren't many of us that make six figures plus every year doing it legitamtely(ie not multiple account theiving crooks) so I would suggest putting work back as the number one priority if this is occurring at all. If not, all I can say is good luck. You are a smart guy and if you trust your instincts you will be fine. Good luck Ice!

You can make a $100K a year as a Real Estate agent regardless of Degrees, skills etc.

I would NEVER quit my job. NEVER - even if it paid $30,000, I would look for a better job but I wouldn't quit.

How about going into graduate school and studying? If you learn Stochastic processes, data analysis, probability, and so on would get you a teaching job somewhere in an area that you enjoy working in, you would learn more about the probablity/odds/value and you would have a LOT of free time.

Are you willing to invest a few years of your life to do what you want to do for the rest it?

While you could be right in that gambling has hurt his work, it could also be that he gambles as his escape from work.

"Cause and effect" is hard to determine, but you make a very valid point.

I agree with BB, right now is not the best time to take up gambling full time. With the pending legislation the next year or so no one really knows for sure how things will play out. Too uncertain to rely on for sole source of income. Part time supplemental income is probably good for now. See how things play out over the next year

Plus you have to consider things like health insurance.. Does your employer pay a % of your healthcare, 401k,etc.....? I know here in NY if I did not have health care from my employer its like $600/month for a family plan with minimal coverage.

But don't most agents fail to come close to that ? I've dealt with some newbie agents I could tell would fail at it.

I work 7 days a week. Around 6 hours a day. 3 hour intervals basically twice a day.

no offense,

but someone that makes six figures a year, plus another $800/week (tax free) and only has 48k/yr in expenses should have more than $35k to their name.

My advice is to suck it up until you get more cash socked away (at least another 50k on top of your 35k) at the same time cut those damn expenses down to 25k/yr.

once you do that quit your 'job' and replace it with something that pays around 30k/yr
WELL said I would Suck it up and hang onto that goldmine of a job...6 figures? you have to be complete and certifiable LUNATIC to leave that
