This will be more of a trust post because I've had elbow surgery and simply don't feel like a 3rd write-up for the day.

But using the same formula, Cal is the play. Miami is playing on the wrong coast and with a freshman QB. Cal has had mental lapses in their losses other than USC. Against Maryland, they simply did not show up for an entire half and roared back to fall short. Against Oregon St a kick-off return for TD and an INT for TD beat them. Against Arizona, they had a 10 pt lead, came out of the 2nd half and gave up 28 3rd Qtr points.

Other than these 3 lapses, Cal took care of business, winning by an average of 26 PPG. They are strong with Defense, and strong with running the ball. They should be ready for this game, and Miami is a year away from adequate depth to handle a team like this so far away from home. They won 4 close calls to get to bowl eligibility.

This game should be a wear down, eventual beat down, for Cal. Cal's 30th ranked Run game against Miami's 69th ranked Rush D will be the difference. Cal's 24th ranked Defense vs 88th ranked Miami O will be too much.

I agree as well. I love CAL here and got them at 6.5 when the line first came out. Today is the first time ever the Emerald Bowl will have a local team play in its short history. I know the majority of fans will be rooting for CAL and hopefully that will be motivation for them to smash the Canes.

Freshman QB on National TV equals too much pressure. I think Miami will try to establish some sort of run game to help its QB. Under may be a good play as well.

I think the only way CAL loses today is if they shoot themselves in the foot with turnovers. Hope for no turnovers. I will be at the game today getting drunk and hopefully watching the Bears rip the Canes a new a**hole.

One more note.....Miami being in the ACC played several good defenses. The key stat is they only played 2 Top 50 Offenses all year....Florida and Georgia Tech. They were dominated in both games ang blown out.

If Cal's Defense was lax, I'd say Miami would have a chance. But they are not. Cal's Offense is 46th with strong running which is the Miami D weakness. And Cal's Defense is 24th and 12th in the Nation in Sacks, and 22nd in Tackles for loss.....going against a Frosh QB.

Miami is gonna get killed.
