The line here tells me that the linemakers respect what Washington did in their first two games. Not sure this team is legit, but they are hot and confident for sure, and that is one solid reason to take them in the dog role tomorrow. I was on Detroit +pts against LA and I won that bet easily, as I expected the champs to bounce back after a humiliating loss in their opener. But this is a completely different situation. They are playing a team they owned in recent years, they are stil missing 3 key players, they face a real contender in their next 2 games (home & home series vs Indiana) and they are probably spent after a road trip to WC and a home opener against LA in which they gave their 150%. This is their third game in 5 days and I expect them to have hard time against a confident intruder. Let's not forget that they desperately need some rest despite the fact that the season just started, and they will have a week off after this game. Dangerous spot, especially if they start looking ahead to that week off too early. So, I'm taking Washington +6 (buying half point) in hope to go to 5-0 on the season.
Minnesota +2. The Lynx was a young team last season and after starting the season 5-0 they lost their composure and collapsed, missing the playoffs again. They are more experienced now and their confidence is huge after scoring 198 pts in first teo games and winning by almost 20 pts on average. They also played solid defense in those two games, and led by as many as 24 against Chicago and by 31 against Indiana. LA is playing their first game against a team not called Detroit Shock and have two more road tilts after this game against contenders Indiana and Phoenix. These two teams split last 6 meetings.
Small moneyline play (-290, to win 100$) on Phoenix. Double revenge game for a team that had to face NY without Pondexter in the 2nd meeting last season when they wanted to avenge a record setting loss from the first meeting. A lot to prove here for Phoenix.
