3-1-1 friday losing my first game of the season by only 2.5 pts. Atlanta came close late in the game but failed to cover. Afterall, they didn't deserve to cover, even less to win the game. My under in the Minny game looked golden after the first quarter but ended as a push - which is always better than a loss. Under in Indiana, and in Sacramento, as well as Sacramento's win were relatively easy winners.
SATURDAY PLAYS:
New York +6 (as posted friday in my thread)
This line is down to 5.5 now and it doesn't surprise me one bit. I'm glad I took NY getting 6 points but in the end it may not matter at all. I believe that the outright winner will also cover the spread. Ney York is definately the most desperate team here as they are 0-2 already and their schedule will not get any easier after this game. San Antonio had very little help from their bench in their opener and that could be their problem this season. San Antonio owns NY since the Becky Hammon trade but all those 4 wins have been very close. I have S.A as a 3.5 pts favorite here, but I was wrong before. Can't win them all.
Under 170 Phoenix vs Sacramento
Home-and-home series on back-to-back nights is never easy in basketball, but that seems even harder for fast paced teams like Phoenix. Sacramento is one of those teams that give tons of problems to Phoenix and Mercury usually spends a lot of energy in those games. The total is set at 170 and that is way too high this early in the season, regardless who plays. The under is now 8-2 last 10 times these two conference opponents played each other and both overs came when they played @ Sacramento. Last 5 games these two teams played in Phoenix, stayed under the total. By the way, the Friday's meeting is about to end, and despite a rather fast pace and good FT % by both teams, the points scored are not even close to what vegas expected.
