If 20 people were in I would do it, I just don't see putting up $200 for a 7 person pool

General, where are we at with this? There are several posters and some Mods that indicated that they would participate. As I remember the original list was well over 20.

7 posters emailed. That is just not enough to make it worthwhile IMO. I guess the other guys decided $200 was a bit steep. Or maybe they are afraid of being declared a hillbilly redneck. :howdy:

It didn't matter to me either way but it looks like the ones that didn't enter did so because they couldn't play with the money they would have to send in. Last year a $200 deposit got you into the contest, this year its post up instead. That's my take anyways.

Don't think some people realize the work Pete puts into this or the money books add to the pot to make it interesting week in and week out.

General P ...

With all due respect, you kinda dropped the ball on this. Wouldn't it have been prudent to start a "sh*t or get off the pot" thread ?

We had almost 20 promise to sign up and then the thread just sorta died. don't get me wrong, we appreciate the effort you put in last and this year.

Consider at least starting a "last chance" thread. I don't feel it's wrong to "call out" the posters who promised to join in, bottom line .... They LIED, after all credibility and words are all people have in this forum.

My apologies Kiss. The thread is here. All of the ones who were interested know this. I can only guess as to why we could not get 20 in. Nascar is not popular among the posting body and this contest is one where you have to pay attention to the series, which some from last year probably figured was not up their alley either. I absolutely love the pool. This is the 1st year I have not played since Steve park pulled off a miracle second half run with the help of Earnhardt Sr. I won the pool as a rookie and haven't done well since. That was 1999.

No need to apologize Pete, I just started watching the Nascar races last year so my entry is nothing more than a donation. To be honest, my wife got hooked on it last year and since I work on Sundays I let her pick my team. This thread was ignored for quite some time, You may be, but I'm not so sure all those that were interested "knew this thread was still around."

I was especially disapointed that you or a fellow mod who promised to play didn't start a "what's up guys" type of thread.

I hope the Baseball Contest that Buc's is organizing doesn't suffer from the "wannabe" syndrom the NASCAR contest has suffered.

If I recall correctly we didn't even have a sponser until shortly before the contest was to start ... That sucked also ...

Regards

This does s**k since I too have been in pools like this every year for the last 5 years or so. I purposely stayed out of those to get in this one.

I guess I'll chalk it up to more Bravado on the Board.

I think we shall put this behind us now. Not enough Rednecks on board. My apologies to those who sent funds. My entry had been sent as well. The expectation of a profit in this pool with 20 was probably 75%. Interesting that there weren't more sharp guys who seen this.

General- For those of us that sent the funds to Royal, is there anyway to get a bonus now for those funds?
