There is a Fandual or Draft Kings commercial litterally every single commercial break.

You're Not Crazy, DraftKings Commercials Really Are on All the Time

The NFL kicks off its 2015 season in Foxboro, but local sports startup powerhouse DraftKings is already in midseason form. Having spent heavily through the entirety of 2015 on television advertising, the Boston-based daily fantasy company hit uncharted territory just in time for professional football's curtain raiser in New England.

According to iSpot.tv's rankings of estimated spending, DraftKings dropped more on television advertising in the past week than anyone else in the United States. Not even cellphone giant AT&T could match the staggering sum dolled out by a company founded in 2012.
That in itself reveals just how steep an incline that DraftKings has grown even in the last year alone. After securing numerous team and league sponsorships, the latest strategy has been direct: spend, spend, spend on TV ads.
The top five spenders from iSpot's rankings:

  1. DraftKings. Estimated total spending: $22,535,747, National airings: 6,053
  2. AT&T. Estimated total spending: $22,501,228, National airings: 3,966
  3. Warner Bros. Estimated total spending: $15,287,284, National airings: 2,784
  4. Geico. Estimated total spending: $12,789,988, National airings: 4,393
  5. Universal Pictures. Estimated total spending: $9,714,384, National airings: 2,318
And beyond the spending, DraftKings' total airings have occupied the top spot by an even wider margin.
Viewers have collectively seen 1,660 more DraftKings' ads than the second most prolific advertiser (Geico). That number by itself outstrips those on iSpot's list who occupy spots six, seven and eight (U.S. Army, Twentieth Century Fox and Nissan, respectively).
The commercial blitz comes at what is clearly an optimal time for DraftKings. Week one of the NFL season promises to be a massive time for a daily fantasy company, given that it will mark the debut of the company's new (and bigger) Millionaire Maker competition.

If you play fantasy and you don't play Draft Kings then YOU ARE CRAZY.

These sites are nothing more than a bubble waiting to burst.

Also, these sites completely ruin what actually makes fantasy football challenging, fun, and rewarding. Fantasy is about managing a team throughout an entire season. Dealing with scheduling, injuries, trades, waivers, start/sit decisions, etc etc for an entire football season is what makes fantasy football great.

If I am looking for a one week quick hit I would just bet on the games, not do a one week fantasy league

per usual chop, your ambition to be clever far exceeds how clever you actually are

And here is example B and C

I knew DFS would get pretty big for a lot of reasons, but I didn't think this big this fast.

the amount of redundant commercials with almost all using the same approach as
a lottery commercial tells one a few things.

1) the target market/demographic for these ads is not very sophisticated or disciplined.
2) the size of this market and profit potential is huge.

I find the hypocrisy of the NFL refusing to run ads during the super bowl for the
las vegas tourist and/or convention authority because there is legalized gaming
there, but willing to partner and promote fantasy sports which IS legalized sports
betting is UFB

I love DK... Playing year long pay leagues are fun but having all your boys in a weekly is great as well..... Ive only hit one of the big tourneys for a great payout once but it was nice.... Ive got friends who play and make money on daily baseball at a good rate and I have friends who bitch about generated lineups and conspiracies lol... Ive tried to tell them when Harper goes of for you, he goes off for 10000 other entries... In baseball Ive had my best success in stacking lineups with 2-3 teams... To say it isn't gambling is a joke though... You pay the say damn juice..

Until people who wager or want to wager on games in whatever state they live complain to the Feds that Fantasy wagering is the same thing it will continue. People who want to wager on sides and totals on sports are being discriminated against while Fan Duel and Draft Kings cut deals with professional sports leagues. They are making money hand over fist while offshore and street bookies get arrested if they are in the United States. This pisses me off to no end. Bombarded non-stop on radio, TV and print ads by Fan Duel and Draft Kings. Some states have seen through the hypocrisy and ban fantasy wagering in their state. I'm not against Fantasy wagering even though I'm sick of their ads. I'm just pissed how they are permitted to exist while people who want to bet on games are not given the same right unless they live in Nevada.

Sure it is annoying for people who want to use another product that isn't legal but try to see the big picture.

This stuff being legalized only enhances the chances of sports betting making inroads in the future. Also the gov't never really wanted this stuff legal, they just got owned by a bunch of smart entrepreneurs and now it is tough to reverse it.

DFS/poker/sports betting all aren't going to magically become legal on the exact same day but 1 of them being legal helps the other two eventually becoming legal in the future.
