My heart has stopped being as much troubled. But must stay alert. Much more fumigation needed on these cockroaches.
Stay alert and do what?
I don't think there will ever be a time when you'll eliminate corruption from politics (you can simply lessen it). I never really figure on any politician appealing to more than 30-40% of what I want (and I think it's unrealistic to expect more). But I am glad this wicked spiral has stopped for now.
For the next four years, we'll continue to see the snowflakes whine about everything under the sun. And they'll continue to be in complete denial and also cheer for the country to fail. I have people in my neck of the woods (San Francisco) that literally want the stock market to crumble just so they can say "I told you so" as though Trump could singlehandedly take down the Economy. Oh the hyperbole!
I was heartened to see so many people (in particular, women) say Fuck You to Democrats when they went into their standard game plan of character assassination, class envy, racism, and all their other politically correct bullshit. I remember seeing some women interviewed and saying they could look beyond some of the disgusting statements from years past because in the grand scheme of things, it's not as important as things like taxes, security, school choice, etc. I have no idea why something like that should be given some priority either, but apparently things like that are so important to Liberals. I had a client of mine start trying to talk up this whole tax return thing to which I replied "who cares". He started saying that all the past Presidential candidates shared theirs, and I asked him why it mattered and told him if anyone had done something illegal, the IRS would be all over it before Joe Public. I find it amusing that all of a sudden, everyone is a CPA (the majority of these internet clowns that scream about stuff like this wouldn't know what to do with Trump's tax return if they had it and probably have problems filling out a 1040 EZ). Needless to say, that ended the conversation since he had no justification for his point.
I was in Vegas a week after the election and the Lyft driver couldn't resist talking about politics (especially when he found out I was from San Francisco). He said "Do you believe that election. Crazy huh? Were putting someone in office that didn't win the popular vote". Rather than do my typical eye roll at the stupidity of his comment and his ignorance of how Presidents are elected in this country, I bit my tongue and didn't call him an idiot. I informed him that we really don't know what the popular vote would have been had we not had our current system of voting. He asked me what I meant by that, and I told him that my wife and I were in South Lake Tahoe the week before the election watching football games and we couldn't believe how many political commercials we saw. He looked a bit baffled so I explained to him that other than some National commercials, we saw virtually no political ads whatsoever (unlike what he saw in Nevada). He was definitely surprised and I explained to him that there was no need for Trump or Clinton to waste any money on it because we weren't a battleground state and the results of CA were pretty much predetermined. However, if it were a system where say, a percentage of the electoral votes went to both candidates, then of course we would have seen more campaigning in our state (and more people would have gone to the polls...especially people who register as Republicans since so many people are disillusioned and don't vote now because they feel their vote doesn't count). I went on to ask him if he thought it was fair that a states like CA and New York have enough influence by themselves to pretty much swing all elections to the candidate they want (since they would control close to 1/6 of the vote). He said he had never thought of it that way and I said "maybe you should". I have no idea if I convinced the guy but I think he was pretty shocked to hear those words from a Black guy that lives in the SF area.
In any event, we'll continue to see these whiners scream that Trump left the toilet seat up again for the next 4 years. To which I say, knock yourselves out. It ain't gonna wipe the smile off my face regardless of what your whine about. You lost.
