I'm a Jays lifer, and when I see a Jays game that clearly favors them I post it on this forum as a play. Nothing about this game points to the Jays that badly.
The Jays are as inconsistent as anyone. Oakland's bats are bad? Jays are right behind them... maybe not recently, but on the season, the A's are worst in the AL in runs scored... Jays are 3rd last. I would never bet the Jays on the runline, as each night they have the potential of making the opposing starter look like Nolan Ryan.
As for the pitching matchup, Marcum has been shaky AT BEST since his return from the DL earning 6, 4 and 6 runs in those starts. Usually this guy is lights out, and had an ERA under 3 before he got hurt. He also hasn't gone more than 5.2 innings in those 3 starts. Rookie starting for Oakland? Big deal, Jays bats are unpredictable.
Oakland usually gives Toronto a tough time each year. Toronto hasn't won a season series against them since 2002... going 4-5, 4-6, 5-5, 3-6, 2-5 against them. At the beginning of the year Oakland swept the Jays, and were 4-2 against Toronto this year before this series. Now the series is tied at 4 each.
So, even though it's currently 3-0 Jays, I would say there is nothing that would make me put any kind of wager on this game. I'd say the only reason the Jays were -135 tonight would be that they're at home, and that Oakland can't hit for shit right now. But, hopefully you took it, looks good thus far.
