Nearing football season

Hi Rodd

How do you feel about using 10,20,30,40 unit plays this year. I know some people will think me suggesting 40 units is wrong, so if you want it can be 10,20,30, but it is a bit easier to track using numbers in the 10's as opposed to 15 and 35 because of juice.

Anyway, I'm open to what you think, and I think we proved last year that even though you used mostly 35 unit plays at least we did not see the chase the bankroll play of 100 units or so which is unrealistic.

All players want their top plays hitting at the hghest possible %. Your football season last year was not so good, so in effect "limiting" yourself to 35 unit plays saved you lots of hard earned cash and perhaps even amplified the value of money management.

I for one am so bored with baseball that I can't wait for September.

Rodd, I wish you the best for this upcoming season and hope your record will be strong in 2009.

The cut and paste below reveals some of the damage from 2008. I did not break out college and NFL separately last year but will probably do so this year. We'll start 2009 at ZERO, and hope the bottom line goes into the positive this time around.





Super Bowl update!

I'm rather new here, so please excuse the questions if they seeem rediculous. Obviously the person referred to in here as "Rod" had a rather lousy record last year. Was that his first attempt in here at picking winners?

One question for Rod. If you are going to give every play to us for free that you give out at your alleged "service", why would anyone subscribe to that service? Why pay for something that they can get for free? And a word just to let you know, I know every trick in the book. I have access to over 60 touts, many of which are well known in the gaming community. I do business with them (and by business, I mean something other than buying their product). So please do not try something cute because I will be able to spot it immediately. Since you are giving away your picks in here, just what is the name of your service? If forum rules forbid you to tell me, you can PM me with the info.

No offense sir, but what you did last year looks like a failed attempt to get people to pay for your serivce this year. It is an old trick used by guys trying to start out as touts. Give your stuff away for free for a year. Have a great year. Then make them pay for it the following year. Just F.Y.I, that never works. Like I said, no offense, but I fail to see why you would even brung up an alleged "service" if this was not your motive.

I think that you would agree that over 1600 units in the red is quite a poor season. That represents a huge hit, one that most gamblers could not take. At $100.00 a unit you are looking at a loss of over 160 large. By the way, you never did tell me the name of your service. Like I said, I am new here and I am just trying to get all the facts straight before the season starts.

"The Fraud" a straight Q, you will NEVER get a straight answer. Ask him to just ONCE to analyze one of his infamous HITT picks. All you'll get is a bunch of gibberish and the run around. This guy makes Wayne Root look like a Holy Prophet. There is no bigger phony or blowhard on this site than he is. :>(

One rule for long term betting that most people have trouble with is you never chase. And when you win big, you bet smaller the closer you get to your goal (make sure you have one).. Hell, I've got a couple capper buddies who if they are up for the regular season, don't even bother betting the bowl games. This is the really hard part of gambling. You win big, you naturally want to put twice as much down on your next play as you normally would. Then you lose that bet and your right back to where you started. My advice is get a plan. And you stick to it. Especially if you're a pretty consistent 55% capper (lifetime) or above. You can make money if you play your cards right. But don't let greed or panic set in or your cooked... And don't chase! :nono5:

Excellent advice GoSooners. Last year, I played exactly 5 bowl games and won 3. Normally I make the majority of my money early in the season. As the season wears on, I find myself wagering less and less, for several reasons. First, the books have basically caught up. Secondly, in the colleges, most of the games are conference games, and I prefer to wager on non-con games. In the pros, the later the season gets, the more teams there are that "throw in the towel" and start to look to the following year.

Geting back to our friend for a moment, I do not believe for one second that he has 160 large to lose. I do not believe that anyone in this forum has that kind of money to lose. I probably play more than the vast majority in here, and I do not budget myself for a potential 160 K loss. If he is a chaser, he is a loser. I will commend him for "giving" away his picks, but if he loses that much in one season, that really isn't saying much, is it?
