#4 Memphis -4.5 @ UAB.

Memphis struggled in their last road game as a 9.5 fav. Tonight they travel to UAB who is 12-0 at home this season. Yes 12 wins with no defeats but where is their quality, "we will protect this house" win this season? Let's take a look.

win 1. south florida 78-77 ot. (8-19 1-12 away)
win 2. jacksonville st 75-48 (11-16 5-11 away)
win 3. troy 73-68 (17-11 5-8 away)
win 4. florida atlantic 76-49 (6-23 0-15 away)
win 5. savannah st 63-37 (13-14 2-11 away)
win 6. central florida 60-52 (16-11 3-6 away)
win 7. La-lafayette 97-62 (10-17 1-12 away)
win 8. UTEP 78-73 (17-10 5-4 away)
win 9. Rice 78-40 (9-18 4-10 away)
win 10. Tulane 81-61 (12-15 3-10 away)
win 11. SMU 78-75 (8-18 0-11 away)
win 12. Southern Miss (14-13 1-6 away)

Thats right. UAB has beaten ONE team with a winning record on the road. The combined road record of all 12 opponents is an amazing 30-116 (21%)

Memphis on the other hand has strong road wins at Tenn and Gonzaga this season.

What about past meetings you ask? Well Memphis has won 8 of the last 10 covering 5 of the last 6.

This is a head scratcher. I want to unload on Memphis but the line is telling me to play UAB. Memphis is the strongest, quickest team that UAB will face this season and you can't practice for something your team doesn't have itself.

Thoughts?

i was pretty close to unloading on uab, but then everyone in the conference started running their mouths how memphis will finally lose this game and how uab's starting five is better than the tiger's. Memphis is going to be extra focused tonight to keep that streak alive thanks to idiotic comments from the other players and coaches in the conference. However, UAB is still pretty talented, and it's a tough bet laying 5 against them.

As a Memphis fanatic (yes, even when Dana Kirk ruled the house), I can tell you that I think they put an invisible lid on the Tigers' hoop the last few years at this place.

With that, and with Memphis' D, take the under and hope it doesn't go into double OT.

Agreed, under best play here. Memphis had a difficult time with
UTEP on the road, UAB is a more difficult gym to play in than UTEP.

I think the 4.5 is right after looking at numbers and stats.
I'm hoping the line will jump to 6. I can't see Memphis beating UAB
by more than 6, but I could also see UAB even pulling this one out.

I like Memhpis. They have both dominated conference USA, but Memphis has good wins against better teams out of conference. UAB hasnt played anyone.

I think UAB got lucky it is tied. Went with Memphis in the 2nd half as I think Evans wakes up and Memphis pulls away late.
