Charlie, with all due respect, there were probably 6 or 7 far worse beats than that game, which of course I was watching given that I'm a lifelong Cowboys fan. In fact, that was a stupid play, yes, but as far as a bad beat, there were far worse bad beats posted that destroyed exactas or parlays with a lot more cash to win at stake. IMHO.

Hope this wasn't fixed

It was a well-written story and a bad, bad beat to boot.

Well deserved winner.

Kudos to HTRC.

Yeah, didn't mean to sound nasty or anything - I enjoyed reading the story. But HTRC never said he wrote it, he said it was his bad beat - you can see the same exact story here near the bottom in an NFL.COM article called "Turkeys and triumphs: Eight for the ages" ... anyway, I never posted my bad beat because it couldn't hold a candle to most of the stories there ... thank God!

Imo, I don't think plagarism was what Shrink had in mind. Clever, though.

Hate the River Card must be a journalist for the NY Times - He should be providing his write up for the Cal/Utah game any minute.

The Runner up story has more reference to an actual gambling bad beat, Dallas was a big favorite in that game If i recall most likely -8 or more to which they would not have covered anyway. If Hate the river didnt have dallas on the money line or teased to a bunch of games that won I dont think its the worst bad beat. Maybe the contest was just any bad beat regardless of gambling, just my 2 cents

Just got in and saw the post, Jazz is correct that I did not write it, I wanted to share the worst beat I have experienced and had to find this article as it could explain it much more eliquently then I would be able to. That is one of the reasons that I also included the link for the article.

If you decide that you would like to the shirt to another poster then I have absolutely no problem with that. I will leave the decision entirely to all.

Regards,

Guys, I don't mean to be a spoiler here, HTRC is a decent guy, but I think to reward him with a win here based on plagiarizing a 2001 story word for word from NFL.COM (he never said he wrote it, don't think it was intentional to take credit for the story), and then posting a copyrighted story on the main page of the Rx without attribution isn't the best thing to be doing. I know it's a shirt, but I tell ya, Pickle's bad beats were simply horrible.

Jazz with all due respect if I had intended on Plagurizing a story I wouldn't include a link to the story with it. I understand what you are trying to say but to accuse me of that without actually knowing my intentions isn't right IMO.

HTRC: apologies - I never saw the link, but I also didn't think you were trying to plagiarize, as I explained above ("he never said he wrote it, don't think it was intentional to take credit for the story") - wasn't trying to accuse of that, I was wondering why the prize would get rewarded on that basis.

Like I said, wasn't intending to offend you - just the decision

No prob Jazz, I'll try and be a little more clear in the future, much like some of the Hold Em poker stuff I post I just copy and paste it and then include the link or mention where its from. I tend to save alot of articles that I find informative and look over them every once in a while, anyways like I said I have no problem having it go to someone else. Damn I am still enjoying the Calender Angelle sent me with the Transexual Miss October.

Yeah, I can't believe the Leon Lett thing is the winner. A bonehead play for sure, but nowhere near some of the bad beats I have seen posted here.

Next time let's see a pic of the golf shirt. I might put a little more effort into it.

Mods, no response at ALL here? HTRC is cool, but winky's right - exactly how was this a bad beat, meaning a gambler took it up the ass horribly, when Miami was covering the spread anyway?
