"'Why is it' that every time I finish my morning coffee, I have to take a monster dump?"
Now, of course i will have to jump in here and help you out.....i have always been told that coffee is a natural laxative. as far as i am aware, when you take a diuretic or have a diuretic causing susbstance (ie caffeine)...it removes water from cells and the colon and excrete thru the kidneys (no the colon). i could be wrong but thats how diuretics work. anyways here is some info. Enjoy your craps!
Coffee produces a
laxative effect in susceptible people through
stimulation of rectosigmoid motor activity, as soon as four minutes after drinking. Even modest doses of coffee can have this effect, whether or not the
body is ready to dispose of the feces, resulting in loose stools. Studies show that decaffeinated coffee has a similar
stimulant effect on the GI tract proving that the
laxative effect is not only due to caffeine
it's not just the caffeine, but the
caffeine combined with the warmth of the liquid, this stimulates peristalsis, which in turn makes one trot to the restroom. (P.S.....peristalsis is the action of the colon moving your business from stomach to rectum.....if you have a very active colon sometimes u can hear this happening)
