The Show is pretty Good

Love the format too

never got to see another minute of it after the first 30 minutes.....they kept those damn weather updates on the whole time....guy even kept apologizing on air, think they were getting lots of complaints....other channels were just scrolling the alerts across the bottom....hoping they'll replay it some night this week since we missed basically all of it...ifnot, i'll have to watch online

So sick of these types of shows.

I can't wait until America is out of this reality-contest-show funk. It seems like everything on TV is like this. Fat people....singers...dancers...cooking....real estate...car makeovers....

Enough already....

Fast National ratings for Tuesday, April 26, 2011

"The Voice" had a strong premiere for NBC Tuesday, outrating "Glee" in the half-hour they opposed each other and giving the network an adults 18-49 victory for the night.

ABC still had the lead in viewers, averaging 14.3 million people along with a 9.3 rating/14 share in primetime. NBC (10.3 million, 6.1/9) came in second, beating out CBS' 9.8 million viewers and 6.3/10. FOX (7.55 million, 4.5/7) came in fourth, and The CW (1.3 million, 0.9/1) trailed. The CW's numbers may change some because its lineup was pre-empted in Chicago, the nation's third-biggest market.

NBC's 4.3 rating among adults 18-49 led the demo by a pretty good-sized margin. FOX took second with a 3.0, followed by ABC at 2.7. CBS came in fourth with a 1.9, while The CW drew a 0.6.

Tuesday hour by hour:

8 p.m.

ABC:
"Dancing With the Stars: The Road to the Finals" (12.85 million viewers, 8.3/13 households)
CBS: "NCIS" rerun (11.1 million, 7.2/11)
FOX: "Glee" (8.5 million, 5.1/8)
NBC: "The Biggest Loser" (7.5 million, 4.6/7)

9 p.m.

ABC:
"Dancing With the Stars" results (18 million, 11.6/17)
NBC: "The Voice" series premiere (11.4 million, 6.5/10)
CBS: "NCIS: Los Angeles" rerun (10.2 million, 6.5/10)
FOX: "Glee" (8.6 million, 5.1/8)/"Raising Hope" (4.6 million, 2.7/4)
The CW: "Hellcats" (1.1 million, 0.7/1)

10 p.m.

NBC:
"The Voice" series premiere (12.2 million, 7.1/11)
ABC: "Body of Proof" (12.1 million, 8.1/13)
CBS: "The Mentalist" rerun (8 million, 5.2/8)

NBC's The Voice Adds Reba McEntire, 3 Others

NBC’s The Voice may not have put up American Idol figures in its debut last Tuesday, but an average of around twelve million viewers and an overall win for the night has finally given the network reason to smile, even if the contentment didn’t last an entire week. With a few days until the follow-up, producers have decided to refortify their celebrity cast with four additions. Each has been handpicked by one of the judges and will serve as an adviser for song selections and vocal stylings.

Cee Lo Green will partner with acclaimed singer Monica. Christina Aguilera will take on singer/ songwriter Sia. Adam Levine will get support from longtime Maroon 5 producer Adam Blackstone, and Blake Shelton will get whispers in his ear from country legend Reba McEntire. Now that the judges have picked their teams, the chosen singers will battle amongst themselves in so-called battle rounds to ultimately produce a slender line-up each particular judge will move forward with. The aforementioned support staff will play a key role over the next four episodes in helping to narrow down that lot.

The Voice airs on NBC at 9 PM EST on Tuesdays. One episode in, it seems like a hit, but the true test will come in the coming weeks when viewers must decide whether the program is good enough to stick with. I’m optimistic. I’ve overheard at least four or five casual conversations, most of which were people advocating friends to check it out. The last show I saw that with was Glee, and it's turned out pretty well for Fox.

Christina is still a knockout, even if she did gain a few lbs drinking herself silly every night. Just makes her even more "dirty". At least she's got a respectable career unlike Brittney.

bucs with yourself being such a big American Idol fan I'm really surprised you like this show with most of the singers castoffs from many various shows of the past.

Could it have more to do with Christina than anything else? :grandmais

This episode sucks to me. Having them sing at the same time just seems stupid to me. I had to change the channel, maybe ill give it another try next week but this episode has been a disappointment. Too much corny stuff going on, not enough singing

that doesnt hurt, thats for sure..

but i like competition shows, and i like the fact that these are all real good singers....and i dont really see what you mean by castoffs? the only one i know of is Frenchie and she wasnt a castoff, she was dq'd, cuz she showed her jugs on the net, and AI wouldnt allow it......there has been a ton of talent on this show so far, i think...

i still watch Idol, but once Casey was gone too soon, it kinda cooled me to the season...its still fun, but seeing him leave before Jacob stuck in my craw...
