Injuries, lack of depth catch up with Bama this weekend. The pressure to perform while ranked #2 does not help the Tide on the road this week. A late season meltdown happened last year and it could very well happen again this year. Saban is concerned. Tennessee will give them their best shot.

Against that shitty Tennessee team? I just can't see it. UT can't do anything well.

i think Tenny's defense is not bad. it keeps em in games like Auburn and Georgia. Being at home helps. Alabama doesnt have an explosive offense...but their defense can keep the Tenny offense off the field.

close low scoring game...but I expect Bama to pull it out

Auburn doesn't have an explosive offense. Bama can put up some points...they just have to learn how to keep doing it past one half.

UT's defense is not that great and regardless of their exploits vs MSU their secondary can be had. Add in their mediocre special teams (Arenas) and UT is in trouble...esp at less than a TD. Also UT wishes they had Ole Miss's DL.

I could see it at 9 or so after the touts come out on Thursday. I'd give it a shot at 7. Wish I had jumped on it at 5.

My formulas say Tennessee is very underrated and Alabama very overrated.

Tennessee +7 will be a big play for me this weekend.

Glad to see you actually watch the games. Vols rush D is bad - dont look at the rankings. Looking at gross ydg, MSU ran for over 100yds, UGA ran for 165, Auburn for 120, and UF for 160. That's not exactly stuffing the run. Now do you think Bama is more like UGA and UF or UCLA and No Illinois?

Good news for Bama is that they don't need Cody to stop the Vols this weekend. I think Bama will play more ball control with their run game and wear out UT who has no depth. JMO.

Tenn and underrated shouldn't be anywhere in the same sentence.

I think Tenn definitely has a shot here. I think they either win or get blown out so I'll be on the vols ML. This bama team is not that good and will get exposed sooner rather than later. they are just lucky that they have an easy schedule this year (really only 2 or 3 tough games on their schedule- @ uga, @ tenn, and @ lsu- uga was not prepared for them, tenn is just an average team and lsu is really overrated this year, yet those are their toughest games).

Part of me is hoping bama keeps winning so I can unload everything i have on usc, ou or texas to beat the shit out of them in the title game.

Has anybody here watched us play on the road this year? Anybody here think Georgia is better than Tennessee?

I hate to pull out stupid stats, but in 4 night games we have averaged 34ppg, and that's including the "blackout" in athens. In 3 games away from Bryant-Denny Stadium, we've averaged 41ppg!

Maybe I'm missing something?

Throw out stats and trends. Bama is not playing with the same level of confidence as earlier in the year. Big loss with Cody Out. Tennessee is starting to improve. Bama is still a young team and to go out on the road as the number 2 team in the nation and perform under all of the pressure that goes along with that, is asking a lot of them at this point in the season.

I want bama to keep winning. They are simply not that good. It really doesnt matter though, the sec east will win the sec championship. Whether it be uga or florida is the only question. If uga gets bama again, it would be a dream come true. Georgia makes a statement this week though. As for the tennessee game, i simply dont think they have enough offense to win against any quality team. bama or no play here i think

You mean underachieving and overachieving?

underrated, but underachieving on the scoreboard.

My statistical analysis suggests they've had more than their fair share of rotten luck... by alot.

They played alot tougher vs Florida than the 30-6 scoreline suggests. Especially their defense.. They held Tebow to 8 for 15, 96 yards passing and 26 yards on 12 carries rushing. They also had the same number of first downs as Florida, 16 a piece. Florida grabbed a TD from a punt return and benefitted from a +3 turnover advantage (2 fumbles). One fumble was at the Tennessee 23 which set up a Florida field goal. Another fumble was at the Florida 2 when they were about to go into the endzone. And they were intercepted at the end of the 1st half in the endzone when they were on the Florida 2. This was a much closer game than the scoreline suggested.

My stats analysis also had them about 10 points better than UCLA in the opener they lost.

I have Tennessee as one of the more snake bitten teams in the entire country. I would not be surprised one bit if they stick it to Alabama this weekend, who I have marked as one of the teams that have been the beneficiary of good randomness.

Good news for Bama is that they don't need Cody to stop the Vols this weekend. I think Bama will play more ball control with their run game and wear out UT who has no depth. JMO.

1. Mississippi State set a goal to run, run, and run some more against the Vols last Saturday and well we saw the outcome. 34-3.

How many passing yards did the QB have?

2. UGA was up enough not even to let Stafford worry about passing and the kept is on the ground with Moreno for the majority of the game being up big in the fourth quarter and a 10:00 drive will always increase your run stats.

3. Auburn with 120 is pretty impressive and I would be happy with that against a UTK defense if I was an AU fan. The only thing you forgot was that they only scored one offensive TD.

4. Florida was up... and up big. Thus the running game was all they wanted to do and they did keep it on the ground when UTK defense was demoralized and on the field for 3/4 of the game.

While the both of you overlooked much of the detail in these games, I think this is a pretty good break down. This Tennessee defense is good, really good. JPW better have enough in the cannon to thread the needle against Berry and crew or he could have some early INTs.

The Tennessee offense is still inept. I think that's where you should base your bet at. Definitely not against the Tennessee defense by any means if you ask me.
