On a side note it's funny to imagine the baby in Clevenger's profile is saying that stuff

I have no problem with him being suspended by the Company. They are a private business and they can fire anyone for any reason they want assuming it isn't a violation of a protected class situation.

What it illustrates, however, is the nature of leftists. They will do everything they can to shut down debate of ideas. EVERYTHING they can. The term political correctness spawned from Stalinist Russia to make sure people understood what the communist party line was so that they could follow in lockstep or face the consequences. No different here.

They will do everything in their power to make it hard for the individual to do anything about it. Guy has a dream of playing major league baseball and works his whole life to be one of the best in the world at what he does. He now has to decide whether he wants that career or wants to stand up for what he knows is right. He will very quickly realize that standing up for what is right will get him nowhere, other than being called a racist, and he will lose his ability to do what he loves at the highest level. He will publicly fall in line because he has to support himself and his family.

We are truly f%cked

I'll quote what you said earlier in post 33:

"You can't go firing people because you don't like certain comments on their social media."

This assertion by you is factually incorrect. That's all I'm saying.

you're playing semantics with this debate my friend

while you argue a player can be suspended because he spoke out and that's not in the best interest of his employer, you don't take the same position with respect to the protesters

I'm going to suggest employers can take the same position with respect to the protesters, who one can clearly argue have damaged their employers as much as, if not more than, the people who spoke out about them

there is a double standard, and you're applying it too

Portions of Clevenger's comments were deemed to violate two specific sections of the CBA, which obviously was negotiated by the league and the players union. Kaepernick's actions have been deemed to have not violated any sections of the existing CBA.

Btw, what THE HELL do you call this:

How is THIS not a fireable offense?

I had a friend who was a police officer that was killed in the line of duty several years ago. They still do several events in his honor every year and police officers from all around typically attend. This past weekend they had an event and nearly every officer who showed up was wearing those socks.

Sure I do. If a protester says inflammatory things on social media, someone in the company reads it and complains to HR, the company will act in their best interests.

If I own a company, I don't care what side a person is on. If they make my company shine in a bad light potentially costing me money, they are gone.

Let me set one thing straight. The first amendment does not apply because these are actions by private companies. However, the problem that I have is that the companies (MLB, NFL) are allowing one type of speech and conduct and banning another. As I said before, it will be up to the fans to decide how they are going to handle it. As much as I like sports, I will stick to my principles over sports and say fuck you MLB and fuck you NFL. Look, the NFL ratings are already down close to 10%. If this bs keeps up, their ratings may continue to drop. I know many people that don't like what they are seeing. I haven't been to a movie in over 20 years because I hate all of the fucking liberal pussy cocksuckers in Hollywood. It is ok to bash Israel but they love the Palestinians. The same Palestinians that kill gays and lesbians. Pretty funny hypocrisy. My favorite poster ever is "Gays for Palestine". Are you fucking kidding me?

I'm going to suggest the protest itself is "inflammatory", hence the same action / position can be taken

I'm going to suggest more people are upset about the protest against the flag and our country than they are about the catcher speaking out about the protests

I can't see anything but a double standard, and it always leans left

The right tends to remain silent and reserved, the left riots and buses in protesters and murders police officers (much financed by extreme lefties like George Soros)

because he's black, because he endorses violent organizations and protests, because we as a nation appease the fucking idiots, because some idiots are still apologizing for slavery, because the last thing the left-wing media wants is a color blind society

racism is key to their fundamental survival

I'm offended by the Piggy Socks.

Using the Enfuego standard (we'll call it a double-standard), Kap should have been fired on the spot.

I'm ALSO offended by THIS:

Again, file a complaint with HR - should be fired on the spot!

Kaepernick social media posts laud Black Lives Matter, Black Panthers, since dating activist DJ

August 30, 2016

FoxNews.com'History!' Kaepernick wrote on Instagram Oct. 15 [2015], when he marked 50 years since the Black Panther Party was founded.

Kaepernick has posted 170 photos or videos on his Instagram account in the four years since he created it. Most of his first 128 posts were pics of him in football gear, publicity photos or shots taken with friends.

But 31 of his last 42 posts have strong social justice connotations, often featuring quotes from radical Nation of Islam leader Malcolm X, Black Panthers founder Huey Newton and cop killer Assata Shakur.

During a Sunday news conference about the flag flap, Kaepernick dressed in a black hat with a large, white “X” and a T-shirt that featured photos of Cuban despot Fidel Castro and Malcolm X.”

These nigs don't even understand and never will. This is a big "look at me" moment for homes. He went from up and coming qb although I knew he sucked to benching behind a guy named Gabbert on a shit team and this is now going to be his claim to fame.

He should be arrested, tortured on television, right arm and left leg amputated and flown to the Sudan where we throw him out of a helicopter where he pays us for transport.

Once we began seeing players wearing pink for "breast cancer awareness" (and then countering with blue for "prostate awareness" - just to make things "fair" and "equal") this type of political stupidity creeping into our favorite sports was inevitable.

What's wrong with breast cancer awareness? Surely everyone can agree on that!

Well, no, it's activism and that's the problem. Once you tolerate activism, this kind of bullshit is inevitable. Sports should be a form distracting entertainment free of ALL ACTIVISM. An escape from the activism (liberalism) all around us, every day 24-7-365. If I want to watch the riots in Charlotte, I can turn on CNN 24 hours a day. If I want football, I don't need some smug ignorant liberal like Bob Costas lecturing me on the latest shooting.

As you say, it will be interesting to see how long lifelong fans allow the activists to ruin their favorite sports. My guess is, people will eventually get fed up and tune out.

Liberalism ruins everything.

Very Interesting.

Lost in all the noise generated by American Media promoting The Race War they want so desperately, for whatever reason, has been the amazing level of Composure, Maturity & Grace shown by Police Officers.

I personally wonder how it is that a great many cops haven't stood up said "You know what? Fuck This. Since you choose to side with The Barbarians Ya'll Save YOURSELVES from them, I'm Out."

Which, of course, is a Key Goal of BLM and those protesting in the streets. To create an environment in which Blacks can commit Crime with as few Law Enforcement impediments as possible.

Under Obama almost 3700 people have been shot and killed in his hometown of Chicago since he took office. 73% of those were Black people including children and grandmothers.

Yet not a PEEP out of Colin Kaepernick's mouth about these Black Lives Mattering?

Why no cry of despair from Colin about this Killer of Black People?

Do Black Chicago Lives not Matter to BLM Attention Whores such as Colin's Girlfriend?

Then plumb fell into "Fame"

bcuz now "Hero" in this country has a totally different definition

than it did in year's past and True Heroes here are, if their skin is White, now treated like they are an enemy.
