Sarah Palin may not as of yet contemplated as the topic suggests revealed plan for Iraq. As governor of Alaska it was not worthy of remarks. She'll have one soon enough! Whatever she comes up with will dwarf Biden's silly plan og carving Iraq up into 3 pieces which he touted in the Dems primary.

Here is Biden hoppin mad about Russia intruding into the territorial rights of
Georgians in his speech at the convention, but not terribly concern about the territorial integrity of Iraq. Not to consistent, I'd say!

Can we really afford candidate to be a heartbeat away from a 72-year old who has never bothered to be informed or even formulate opinions on a wide range of the most important issues facing the country? It doesn't take a lifetime of immersion to be comfortable, but it does take more than a week or two. Nobody knows if she's capable, not even McCain who had met her once before this week. I like to gamble and all, but come on now. McCain said his top two top priorities for his VP would be someone who was ready to step in on day 1 and someone he was personally comfortable working with. Either he lied or he decided that his desperation to win was more important than than his word.

This is his current plan.
Barack Obama believes we must be as careful getting out of Iraq as we were careless getting in. Immediately upon taking office, Obama will give his Secretary of Defense and military commanders a new mission in Iraq: ending the war. The removal of our troops will be responsible and phased, directed by military commanders on the ground and done in consultation with the Iraqi government. Military experts believe we can safely redeploy combat brigades from Iraq at a pace of 1 to 2 brigades a month that would remove them in 16 months. That would be the summer of 2010 – more than 7 years after the war began.
Under the Obama plan, a residual force will remain in Iraq and in the region to conduct targeted counter-terrorism missions against al Qaeda in Iraq and to protect American diplomatic and civilian personnel. He will not build permanent bases in Iraq, but will continue efforts to train and support the Iraqi security forces as long as Iraqi leaders move toward political reconciliation and away from sectarianism.
Quite a reversal from the “on day one of my administration I will bring all the troops home and end the Iraq war”. I commend him for his after the fact due diligence.
