Had to be a reliever today because of the overworked bullpen. Clemens pitched around Bonds somewhat. He got 1 strike on him. Ball 4 could have been called a strike

What is the point when you are losing 3-1 late?!

I guess Joe has a lot of confidence in his offense.

Let's hope he makes the correct call here.

:money8: :money8: :money8:

maybe George said 'we're paying this guy how much' ?

A lot of times if a starting pitcher could throw an inning if its his day to throw in the bullpen between starts....that was probably all it was.

I guess you are right. I really havent seen this practice this much until Torre has done it though.

At the end of the day, I guess it's no big deal.

Still seems strange in modern day baseball. Too see it this much I mean.

And so it goes......

last week the talk of baseball was the Yankees resurgence.....swept in Colorado, and lose 2 of 3 to the Giants, who are last in their own division. What a difference a week makes in this game.....

Happens every now and then in the National League--a guy comes in and throws an inning or two during his scheduled bullpen day. My dad tells me it was more common back in the day.

The Red Sox bullpen looks so deep, I would go absolutely ballisitic and chuck the remote if Terry ever put in a starter for relief in a losing situation.

I want to let you know where I am coming from.

I've lost all my respect for Roger ! Ever since He threw the bat at Mike Piazza, it seems He has become a self centered Prima Donna ! He seems to think it is cool if He can come late and choose whatever team He thinks might have a chance to win it all and then He can be the Hero and win that team a World Series. Only trouble is He always seems to choose the wrong team which I love ! He's become an overpaid example of a terrible team mate who wants all kinds of special Privileges ! Join Barry Bonds in the " I used to be somebody great " retirement and get out of our sights !

You really sound like an idiot. If you hate Clemens fine but it sounds like you would hate him if he a put out a fire in your house.
How did he choose the wrong teams? Yankees havent been to a WS since he left but he has. The guy gets a clause in his contract about leaving when hes not pitching and he gets ripped (even though he almost never uses it) He comes in releif to try and help his team with a depleted bullpen win a game (somehting Pettite has done twice this year) and you rip him for that too. Give me a fucking break.
Im not a big fan of the special priveleges hes given but if anybody has earned them its him. Id rather someone like him to be cock than the usual cock pricks who have never done a fucking thing in their careers.

The guy is a jerk and I think He isn't worth the money anymore ! If you think He's worth the $$$$ ... then perhaps one of us is an idiot ! By the way perhaps you might want to read my post and tell me where I said one thing bad about his coming in to try and save a game !

The only reason Torre brought in Clemens was to see if it would fire up his team. Add a little excitement, carry over to offense. Failed.

It was his side session day... this isn't a big deal IMO

exactly Im suprised this doesnt happen more often especially since most teams have piss poor bullpens
If a good starter is gonna throw 30-40 pitches in a side session Ill take him at 70 percent over the typical run of the mill shit at 100%

All I know is, Mr. Team Player has a losing record, an ERA over 5, and is averaging a shade of 5 innings per start. 750 large a start doesn't go as far as it used to, does it?:aktion033 :missingte :think2: :banger: :dancefool :puppy: :toast: :lolBIG:

Oh my goodness gracious! Of all the dramatic things! Roger Clemens is a New York Yankee! And there we go Jhon! You don't have to worry about who's going to take that spot in the rotation.
