The only thing he really has going for him, apart from being able to sell something that was a fictitious part of his past, is that he doesn't have kids so he can survive having now been exposed as basically the most amazing fade guy, which is pretty funny.
If we're honest, most people are living in their own narratives and delusion, it's just that most people don't have any remote connection to a "public persona" or even a famous or infamous X handle, for example. I know guys that are investors or were former traders (meaning they actually did legitimtately well in life, regardless of what you think of today's finance/monetary system) that amazingly get caught up in attention and grift in this modern world of clicks, youtube, podcasts, etc.
How much more, then, would a guy like Brando who never really did anything in his life, have to craft a narrative of his own? He was probably an average to above average high school athlete. I can guarantee I was a better athlete in every sport than Lang just on probability, but I realize that was just a phase and even progressing to the next level not only is likely not worth it( though it would have been cool), it's just as much based on luck/timing/how early you grew or were a bigger size, where you were from, etc. For heaven's sake, look at Josh Allen and Jay Cutler, basically not even given D1 scholarships in football and were eventually All Pro or all time greats (Rodgers had to go to Community College, think of it lol)
The real difference between Lang and most others who ever got any publicity or notoriety is that Lang actually didn't ever achieve anything. He was never a good handicapper. I'm not even being mean. If you go back to all the shows he had, whether it was when on Dennis Miller or Steven A Smith, etc he was just as atrocious then as he is now, commonly losing most of his picks. He was possibly even worse back then, seriously.
That's what people do when they have insecurities and a need to maintain some ego. But let's be honest, it's just survival, and that's what most people are all about: not truth, honesty, self examination, etc.
By the way, what do you expect him to do, be honest and walk away when he's making money on something that he knows doesn't actually matter? That's why I find some criticism of Lang funny.

I was under the impression that Lang did have one child along the way-hopefully I am/was wrong for the sake of humanity!!
Although I/we will never really know because it is all speculation and opinion, I would love if possible for some day for AI to
assimilate some kind of logical and understandable history of the events in Lang's life that led him to become who and
what he is today and most importantly, to be doing the same unproductive things he dies now as a handicapper as he did
when he began!!
