Megyn Kelly returned from her weekend away in Los Angeles on Monday night and went right back to work, despite the fact that she still have seven more months of vacation before she can start her new job.
The 46-year-old was filmed looking remarkably fresh-faced as she waited for her luggage at John F. Kennedy Airport in New York City after her long flight, and could be seen at one point doing some reconnaissance work by sneaking a quick glance over at another blond woman standing just just 15 feet away - Good Morning America host Lara Spencer.
Megyn revealed exactly one week ago that she would be joining the team at NBC News, and given the network's long-running rivalry with ABC the chance run-in with Lara provided the perfect opportunity for her to size up the competition.
No words were exchanged after that quick glance from Megyn, and for the remainder of the video the two made no eye contact or sign that indicated they were acquainted with one another.
Megyn instead concentrated on chewing her gum while wrapped up in a $2600 Elie Tahari suede shearling coat, the perfect thing for combating the very chilly atmosphere at baggage claim.
At the same time, Lara busied herself by playing with her hair.
Then, at the very end of the video, Megyn's husband Douglas Brunt made an amusing cameo when he stepped directly in front of Lara.

There is also a chance that Megyn and Lara were aware of the fact that they were being filmed and decided to have a little bit of fun.
The two ladies would have just been on the same flight from Los Angeles to New York as well, and it is highly likely they were even closer to one another then in either the first class or business section of the plane.
What's more, both women are prominent television hosts who have worked in New York City for over a decade, so that too would make it seem highly likely that they had met before on at least once occasion.

There had been talk about Megyn possibly taking a position with ABC over the past few months as well, which also means that there could be some bad blood between the two.
Variety reported in December that two people familiar with talks between Megyn and ABC said that she was being eyed for a job on the morning show and would take the place of one of the hosts.
The hosts she would replace was not named, only the fact that it would not be George Stephanopoulos, Robin Roberts or Michael Strahan.
That means Megyn would have been eyed to take over for Lara or Amy Robach, which would make running into one another a less than pleasant experience for both women.
ABC dismissed that notion at the time it was reported, saying: 'There has never been an offer of any job. End of story.'
Megyn has however been a frequent guest on Good Morning America, though never has she been interviewed by Lara.
She almost always sits down with Stephanopoulos when she appears on the show, and most of those appearances happen in the 7am hour before Lara is live in the studio for the program's second hour.
Those appearances will now be no more however as a result of Megyn's move to NBC.

Lara was returning from a work trip on Monday night when she did not see Megyn at the airport, having been sent to the Golden Globes to cover the event for ABC.
She was back on the air Tuesday, and made no mention about her time in baggage claim after flying the friendly skies.
Megyn on the other hand was touching down after a weekend that was all play and no work.
She hosted her final episode of The Kelly File on Friday and then jetted out for Golden Globes weekend, hitting up the CAA party at the Sunset Tower Hotel on Sunday night.
That event drew out big names including Amy Adams, Hugh Grant, Pierce Brosnan, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Ron Howard, Laura Dern, and James Corden.
Megyn took advantage of the much warmer Los Angeles temperatures during her night out with husband Doug as well on Sunday, opting to wear a low-cut David Koma dress with a high slit.
She was in a celebratory mood after a remarkable two months during which she managed to release the bestselling memoir Settle For More while also meeting with prospective employers before negotiating the deal that had landed her at NBC.
Fans of Megyn will no doubt be thrilled at the prospect of watching her six days a week when she joins NBC later this year, as she will be hosting two shows in her new role - weekday talk show and Sunday news magazine.
Megyn will also anchor breaking news and social event coverage for the network.
She will not be able to start work at NBC until her Fox News contract expires in July, though there have been reports that the network might let her out of her deal sooner in order to save money.
Megyn released a rare public statement on Tuesday after news of the NBC deal broke in which she spoke about her new position and gave thanks to everyone at Fox News.
'While I will greatly miss my colleagues at Fox, I am delighted to be joining the NBC News family and taking on a new challenge,' wrote Kelly on Facebook.
'I remain deeply grateful to Fox News, to Rupert, Lachlan and James Murdoch, and especially to all of the FNC viewers, who have taught me so much about what really matters.'
Megyn was reportedly offered a four-year contract valued at $100million to stay at Fox News but turned it down to move to NBC.
It is being reported that she will likely make around $15million at her new job.
