General Pete,lol... What do you think? If he bet against his own team? Pete Rose WAS baseball! PERIOD! He was everything that was good about baseball in the 1970`s 80`s....But for him to have wagered against his own team, I just can`t see this being acceptable...The dude was a great competitor I loved him...

I think he`s probably a real ass to the general public, everything you ever hear about Rose as a person off the filed he`s a real dick...

Was he a great player who clearly should be a Hall of Famer , HELL YES!

I just don`t know if he should get in, maybe if he would have admitted it.....

General , just answer the one question....

If Rose bet against Cincy the team he managed , should he still get in?

Even if he never admits it?

Yes he has done his time, but atleast an admission of some sort, he has lied for years about even making a baseball wager at all, i still don`t think he`s admitted he bet on baseball anywhere publicly...I think he made a big mistake and must have been given bad advice , as it appears he thought after one year he`d be eligible to re-apply and would be back...

This is such a ploy by MLB. They will let him in now stating they listen to democracy because of this ESPN thing/show, prob paid for by MLB. They were thinking to reinstate him for opening day remember. This will make MLB look better by the fans.

Does anyone know when ESPN will replay this in its entirety? I would love to see it start-to-finish.

Thanks!

I think its very obvious he bet on his own team, I vote let Rose in, but I think he should NOT work for a baseball team again..

Either way his on field greatness has never been questioned, as his name is tarnished forever, whether he gets in or not I don`t think it changes his image at this point......

Rose bet on baseball and his own team!

WTF is baseball doing anyway, easily the biggest joke in major sports , Bud Selig is a bumbling idiot! All this talk early in the year, then nothing???

Baseball is a fu(king joke, and no sign of improving...

Declining attendance is the real verdict as it continues to drop drastically!

he was a great baseball player. shouldn't that mean he should be in the hall of fame. many in the hall have not done great things off of the field. it's not like he is up for a distinguished citizen award.

The debate may rage on, but our jury has spoken: Pete Rose deserves to be in the Hall of Fame. Baseball's all-time hits leader, banned for life for allegedly betting on the sport, should be allowed induction at Cooperstown, the jury of ESPN's mock trial said after hearing three hours of testimony and deliberating for more than five hours more at Harvard Law School
