The perfect NFL handicapper

someone eluded to in another thread about how lines are so tight now adays becuase they account for so many different factors and are incredibly accurate.

so whats the perfect NFL handicapper?

1. knows everything about everyone and all personal I mean everything they have nfl.com memorized or better yet know it without having to carefully exam the site.

2. has a great knowledge of team tendancys and matchups

3. has a beautiful understanding of the NFL overall. just thinks, doesnt do research.

4. understands what a spread is, but is oblivious to everything else like line moves, fade or plays & what jhon q. public is doing.

does this sound about right?

Lander, that reminds me a of a joke.

A friend of mine was getting married and was looking for someone to speak by his reception. First they asked the smartest guy, but he declined. Then they asked the funniest guy, but he laughed it off and said, no. Then they asked the best looking guy and I said, "Enough already! This is the 3rd time you asked me to speak today, I'll do it!"

Rob, put at the top of your list: reads the public brilliantly and feels when they are too heavily backing a team. The best handicappers I know of the NFL don't really know the league as cold as you imply and aren't the types of guys that create some super power rating. They just read the results and have an amazing ability to think how exactly the public will react and then pick the spots where they feel the public will react incorrectly or too much and go against that. The art side of handicapping is where the true talents are, the number crunching and mechanical abilities become less and less every year because there are so many sources to get that info and so many ways to get that analyzed without much work. That stuff has become largely "public info" as well. The ability though to go against the public well is an art that few can or will ever master.

Wish I could add to from experience of perfection, but I think another attribute would be to play the good number only. Never give into the bad number.

A big step to better profits along with good money management.
