baseball is all about making the playoffs.
once you get there literally any team can win it all.

AGREE--- very idiotic to get rid of their best hitter for a once every 5 game pitcher when they had plenty of pitching---

I have watched every A's game this year and am really surprised of what Billy did to this team.

First off at the time of the big trades, the A's had one of the top pitching staffs in MLB.

They are 11-25 since the trade. Lester will be in Oakland for 2-3 months depending on playoffs and he will be gone. They had Cespedes signed through 2015. Billy gave up a top ten prospect and another good ball player.

The A's are 11-25 since the trade. Their Batting Average has dipped from .251 to .224 since the trade.

I have always considered Billy a genius. Some of the teams he has put together with a limited budget is crazy.

It seems that the A's batters are very tenative at the plate the last month. Losing Doolittle for a couple weeks did not help.

It will be interesting to see if the A's can get it together for the next 10 days

Billy Beane also pulled a covert operation to fanagle the Nashville Sounds away from the Brewers.

Billy did not fanagle Nashville away from the Brewers. Milwaukee dropped them.

I am surprised the A's did not get Fresno as their AAA affiliate.. Sounds like Billy liked the new stadium situation that they will be playing in for the 2015 season.

It looks like the brewers are going to fresno (or colo springs) , theres always 2 sides to a story and then the 3rd side thats the truth (prolly bad leadership in milwaukee) but the report i saw was mil gm pissed saying he thought everything was good for 2 more years with nashville , and said they had spent time and money on the brand new nashville stadium that will now open as an A's affiliate.

So probably sour grapes by the brewers , but the sounds did throw them an unexpected curve .
