I will preface this by saying that IMO the NHL has gotten a *lot* tougher to handicap since the lockout and subsequent rule changes. But sometimes favorites sweep (or come close to sweeping) in *all* sports. On a night with only six games on the board that's even less surprising. I play a lot of NHL games UNDER, but if all games happen to go over on a given night this doesn't mean that the sport is a farce. It happens. There's plenty of good underdog opportuntities in hockey.
As a postscript, someone posted yesterday that 61% of the public was on the Giants last night. Just because they Giants won and covered easily doesn't mean that being a contrarian is an invalid concept, nor does it mean that the ticket to winning at sports betting is to follow the public. Anything can happen on a single day's games--its what statisticians refer to as a "insignificant sample size". Over the long haul, however, things like "public" teams dominating and favorites sweeping the board in the NHL even out and in these cases likely trend longterm the other way. Keep your eye on the big picture, not the events of one game or one day...
