I think the Mets are now in a prime position to sneak in and take the NL WildCard...

Out of nowhere and not even getting anywhere near the production expected from Carlos Beltran, the Mets have emerged as as good as anyone for that final NL playoff spot.

Pedro, Seo, Benson, Glavine and Trachsel returning...

This team is coming together rather nicely.

I hope your right, unfortunately they still have a nasty 10 game road trip starting with 3 @ FLA, 3 @ ATL & 4 @ STL

Definately not the favourites but they are making a push. I expect them to fizzle out in pure mets form.

Booze- I agree the schedule is tough for the NYM...all the pitchers are throwing well though, Pedro, Seo, Benson, even glavine has been decent...Trachsel could give them a big shot in the arm .

Looking at the schedules, Houston is in front, all the NL east teams have to beat up on themselves.
But I think Florida will pull it off, their rotation is pretty nasty and they have some good hitters as well.

The East teams really control their own destiny. I hope you are right about the Marlins. They have the best pitching of the contenders but their offense has never quite found it's groove.

sweet avatar Journey!

The Met's starting pitching depth is definitely a plus, considering Heilman could easily move from the pen too. Roberto Hernandez/Looper for the 8th & 9th has been ok, but I still don't have much confidence in that duo. The key with them is if they keep getting great production from their kids: Reyes, Wright & Mike Jacobs have been on fire.

While I probably fear the Marlins the most, as they probably have the most talent out of the WC teams, nobody seems to be giving the Phillies much respect. In my mind they're the team to beat

No jinx please. They are a year away from it I think, but you never know. Always tough to jump a lot of teams. But I haven't had this much fun in a long time with them.

Meet the METS...Meet the Mets..Step right up and greet the METS..

Schedule gets tough..3 in SF..then 3 at home against Phils..then ugly..Marlins..Braves..Cards..then the following week..Braves and Marlins again.

Lets see where they are in 2 weeks..Randolph has the experience, but does he have the athletes?..

I would not overlook Washington as they have the best schedule with 19 home games and 13 road games. Also Washington is 36-24 at home.
