Those who bet NBA futures or bet that a team will go ‘over’ or ‘under’ a specified number of season wins are prone to attach too much importance to the NBA draft's fresh faces.

The big difference is when Robinson, Duncan and Shaq were in college, the college game had difference makers that were playing college ball...now days, they leave way early, or just come right out of high school....The Lottery picks aren't what they use to be, and its not even close!

Remember back when Ewing, Hakeem, Sampson, Shaq, The Admiral were in college, everyone watched just to see who was getting the rights to pick first, now who pays attention to it?

We will never see a player in college as developed as those mentioned in the article.

Its a shame too, I think the college game is lacking somewhat because so many elite players skip college ball.

and if we do see another elite player, the Knicks will somehow "win" the lottery again.

It's amazing that we haven't seen a dominant center come along since Shaq. There was a pattern at one time in which a superstar center came along every so many years, but that has disappeared.......

Yah, I know what you mean J. I was talking about centers though. Even kids that would have stayed, there hasn't been dominant center come along. in over a decade. Remember the days of Hakeem, Ewing, Robinson, Shaq, Mourning. Heck, even Brady Daughtery and Rik Smits were better than what we've seen in a long time........
