Many on the right like to pretend that anyone who doesn't love money and guns and hate Clinton and the poor is an "enemy" of common Americans. We, those of us intelligent enough to avoid swallowing Republican bile know better. Here is a list of the real enemies of America:

Oliver North (felon, liar) Betrayed his country, lied to Congress

This man had the nerve to call himself a patriot?! With 'friends' like these, America hardly needs enemies. He sells weapons to America's sworn enemy, Iran, lies to Congress, and is such a disgrace that even Reagan disavowed him!

Rush Limbaugh (radio hate-monger) Lying, lowering public discourse

Radio hasn't had such an effective hate-monger since Father Coughlin in the 1930's. Limbaugh has made lying into an art form.

Robert Dornan (R-California) Disrespecting the office of the President

This guy is so far out that he got diciplined by his own party! After making accusations against President Clinton on the House floor, Dornan had his words taken down (stricken) from the House record and was banned from entering the chamber for 24 hours, the first time in nearly 20 years that a House member was so disciplined

Jesse Helms (R-North Carolina, Chairman of Senate Tobacco Committee) Treason, Sedition, Racism

Threatened the President, an offense that lands lesser beings in jail. The Republicans rewarded him with the chairmanship of the Senate Foreign Relations committee, a great place for an isolationist to be! Pines for the lost days of the antebellum South, and waits for Dixie to rise again.

Pat Buchanan (Republican also-ran) Racism, Anti-Semitism, Isolationism

Confirmed Jew-hater...but Jews shouldn't feel alone. Pat also hates Mexicans, Blacks, and Arabs. Pat was repudiated by William F. Buckley, the leading thinker of conservatism

Jerry Falwell (Supposed "man of God") Slander, Libel, Hatemongering

Let's see...this sleazebag hawks videos which state that Hillary Clinton personally murdered Vince Foster (probably with help from the Trilateral Commission and the Illuminati). He also uses his pupit to preach the word of his unique God, which differs from the Christian God in that Falwell's God prefers hate over love, and is also a Republican!

Pat Robertson (Supposed "man of God," Republican also-ran) Wants to make America into Christian theocracy

Is your idea of a great society something like Iran, but with Pat instead of the Ayatollah deciding what's hip? Well, welcome to the America of Pat Robertson's wet dreams. His plans are chillingly laid out in his book (sounds familiar, eh?). Go to Blockbuster and rent the movie "The Handmaid's Tale" and you can see for yourself the future under Pat's ilk.

Newt Gingrich (R-Georgia, Speaker of the House, Intellectual Wanna-be) Robs from the poor to give to the rich, general wackiness

The man, he likes to think he's smart...however, a mail-order PhD and a public-access cable TV classroom do not a professor make. Newt's wacky world view is a mixture of Buck Rogers futurism, and a longing for the olden days of child labor and orphanages. That is, in between giraffe hunting and rooting around in the mud. By the way, what did George McGovern do that Newt never did? Answer: Serve his country in the military

G. Gordon Liddy Convicted felon, hater of America This guy makes Rush look like a bleeding-heart liberal. Liddy's radio show is useful to listen to if you need shooting tips for the next time you feel like blowing away federal law enforcement officers ("aim for the head or groin to avoid the body armor") or shooting the President and his family (Liddy admitted using cut-outs of the first family for target practice).

Actually Doc as I understood it the weapons were bought from Iran with drug money to send them to Nicaragua, to equip the illegal U.S. military bases that were set up there and in Costa Rica to train rebels.
Also keep in mind that of course Ronnie disavowed him, Watergate taught the government there must always be a scape goat to cover the pres. Ronnie (to some extent as it's come out he was already suffering his illness so it's hard to say how much he was really aware of) and those pulling his strings were the true evil behind the Iran/Contra affair.

Those men you've mentioned had one thing in common...they are men of ACTION. The libs seem to be more comfortable sitting back and armchair-quaterbacking, dripping with sarcasm and contempt, while others forge the future with action. Liberals blind themselves with over-analysis and seem to paralize themselves into inaction, for fear of doing anything that has a potential downside to it. Maybe that's why the libs always seem to be looking the wrong way when they get run over.

Like a draft dodger armchair quarterbacking a little invasion in the middle east to make his v.p.'s oil company richer.

Iraq is another Nam, history to be embarrassed about.

Helping return Northern Ireland to it's rightful owners is history we can be proud of, oh wait no we can't that guy got a hummer in the White House, darn it.

Being a man of action is good enough is it? Well, they're in good company. Napolean, Hitler, Mussolini, Hussein, Bin Laden blah blah. Also men of action.

I prefer the Ghandi variety, frankly. Action that is not mired with statist, knee-jerk, arrogant reaction like your heroes.

Libs had a chance to "act" on November 2. They didn't. Or, perhaps they did, but there weren't as many of them as we were all led to believe. I guess the point I'm making is that I'm tired of so much focus being put on whether history will look favorably on decisions and events of recent years. Instead the focus should be on solutions and on making progress here and now. Is that sensible or am I being "neo-Conservative" once again?

Excellent point, I was thinking earlier today that all these, "soft lefties", "limp wristed lefties", etc comments are ridiculous.
What exactly is the concept of tuff, first to shoot somebody?, first to throw a punch?
Personally, I was in the Army, have boxed, kicked boxed, sparred martial arts and street faught (definately not trying to brag and not particularily proud of a lot of that). None of those things take the guts it takes to sit there and passively resist for a cause you believe in while cops gas you and night stick you.

Men like Ghandi and Martin Luther King Jr. were truly brave.

A dodge drafter playing armchair warrior sending young men to die to fullfill political agendas is what sounds cowardly to me.

I guess what the Dems need is another LBJ. Now that was a man of action. Had a President assasinated (for the sake of the action argument), got the U.S. into a big time shooting war in South East Asia. Made equal rights a reality, and got the great society off the ground.
You must have idolized him American.

Doc - you missed Bill Bennet and his gambling!

I was going to print out a list of your heros - you know - Whoopie Goldberg and Larry Flint and a host of others.

But then I thought - "What's the sense! This guy is a small minded exocentrist who hates everyone who doesn't march lock step to his agenda."

Doc, I'm not going to sway you - you're to full of hate. Life is just to short to be so odious about everything.

Doc - I pity you!

The last time I used such insults, I was a teenager!

Doc - you're getting weak here - can't you come up with something that has a little more maturity to it. This is the problem when hate erodes your heart and mind - you wildly swing at anything that moves and you rarely connect.

Doc, if you keep this up you're going to have a stroke!

Please calm down, we want to keep you on the forum - there can't be a right without a wrong, er, I mean a left. Just remember - we don't need hate to have love - and we all love you!

A rightie calling somebody small minded and hateful, I love it lmao.

conservatism:
<TABLE cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 width=400 border=0><TBODY><TR><TD align=left>1 capitalized a : the principles and policies of a Conservative party b : the Conservative party
2 a : disposition in politics to preserve what is established b : a political philosophy based on tradition and social stability, stressing established institutions, and preferring gradual development to abrupt change
3 : the tendency to prefer an existing or traditional situation to change </TD><TD>

</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>

What could be more small minded, sticking to established tradition, resisiting change....

Doc, you need to let go of Mr. Limbaugh...your obsession is disturbing. You are like the Red Sox fans that started chanting "Yankees Suck" at Ronald Reagan's funeral: too much of a fetish is a bad thing.

At least mix it up a bit. Go after Hannity; he's weak as well as dull.

You guys remember when Limbaugh was on the Berman morning show (which one is that again?) You know what? I really liked him in that spot. Even when he made the McNabb comment, I didn't see it as being ridiculously racist (we're not so censoring up here, tho) and was surprised at the venomous reaction.

I also think he was kinda right. American media is about ratings, not important information, as he would well know. Black QBs (as a media darling, not to the fans, btw) sell exactly the same way boobs do. Imagine getting booted off the air because someone dared to say that Pamela Anderson has her plastic surgeon to thank for her fame??

On politics, though, Limbaugh's a retard.

You think Limpbough is correct when he says McNabb only has his blackness to thank for his esteem? Limpbough is disgusting in any spot. You can't seperate him from his hysteria inducing slime. He needs to stay in his own universe and not stray to far into the reality based world.

No, I think Limbaugh was right when he said McNabb became a media darling in part because he was black. American media are whores -- there's just no other way to look at it.

Don't forget that this was within a year of the big stink in the NFL about black coaches and black QBs. The media jumped all over it. McNabb has a great disposition about him and he's very likable ... the fact that he is black made the media put him front and centre. Let's put it another way -- he received more media attention that year than Manning who is not only a better QB but he's also personable and well-spoken like McNabb.

I don't think it's right, but I do think Limbaugh's assessment was pretty much on the money. And, for what it's worth, I've noticed many times when 'feminist' issues get more attention from your media when the woman happens to be hot. Lipstick lesbians are a better sell than bull dykes, no? Same kinda crap.
