gotta be something wrong with him...its not happening for the Cubs this year, and they've gotten some solid years from the supporting cast Patterson,Lee,Ramirez...Alou going nuts, and the staff goes down in flames...

Blue that 93 wins sure looks like a million miles away now

Thanks for this thread! I gotta say I'm excited about the marlins right now. They're getting timely hitting, and their pitching is finally dominating. With Burnett and Pavano pitching well and Beckett picking it up, they have a shot. Their bullpen is also getting it done. Mota was a huge pickup.

Calendar turns to September tomorrow, we'll see. Looks to be a true 5-team race. 5 teams within 3 games of the lead. With roughly 30 games left, I'd say the winner is going to have to go at least 20-10.

I'm sure no one is eager to see the Fish in the wild card chase.
Maybe we should start a thread and have like 50 rah-rah messages like the Red Sox fans.
The only difference is the Marlins actually win in the postseason.

i think they will end up getting the wild card. that pitching is just as good as the cubs and the offense is clicking now. i really like the manager too.

time will tell.

30-1 to win the NL
50-1 to win the Series

at Olympic

Worth a shot. Love that young staff. A hot Burnett and Beckett could get them there.

I would say the Marlins are the team to fear right now. Their ERA in the past 20 games is under 3, and they are playing like they did last year.

both teams are scary but in my opinion Floridas starters Beckett Pavano and burnett are nasty add Mota in the bullpen watchout Houston better bats florida better pitching

Cubs still hav the fewest number of losses and such control their own destinty. Plus, other than a Fla DH and 3 at the end with Atlanta, they play Pitt, Cincy and NYM. Cubs Win Cubs Win! 21 games from here on out and I say they go 15-6 to finish 92-70 and edge out Houston and SF, both by 2 games as SF finishes 11-7 and Houston 12-6. Fla goes 14-7 losing by 3 games.

wow...such precise predictions. we shall see. the cubs do have an easy schedule and do control their own destiny. the mets have completely mailed it in. the pirates just don't have it. the reds can give them some trouble.

i do have a marlins future bet that would be nice to hit but, if the cubs win 92 games, that will be good enough.
