A very lethargic week for the model, with 8 dogs covering and 5 upsets being the new normal. A clear, predictable projection flop was the algorithm using J.J. Mcarthy’s past performance numbers as a guide, without the context of Washington’s truly pathetic defense; likewise, the Commander’s putrid offense, despite the return of QB Daniels. Still, the model’s straight-up upset pick of the Chargers over the Eagles, going with the various team matchups, it called the upset and cover – so, there! LOL.

Late player scratches (especially among starters), and out-of-the-blue “discovered” injuries, are not only a bane to bettors, but to reliable statistical projection. Forthwith, I’ll be posting Pre-Final Projections to Sunday’s games on Fridays, and Final Projections on Saturdays. The NFL really needs to clean up its rules for Injury Reports, which currently has more loopholes than tax laws. GLTA
