Why does that matter? My copy of the Constitution says the Federal Govt can raise money for war. No where does it say it can raise money for healthcare, public education etc.

WW II was expensive too. Debate the war on it's merits, I think the cost is irrelievent.

By "raise money" do you mean borrow from China and add to the national debt?

Oh, and there has been no formal declaration of war. But of course you knew that, right?

You should be proud!

O! say can you see by the dawn's early light
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming.
Whose broad stripes and bright stars through the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming.
And the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.
Oh, say does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?

Maybe we should just sit here and sing songs and pretend the WTC is still standing and there are no terrorists in this world that want to destroy our culture.

Lets go back to the 90's

Rob, I'm sorry for any disrespect my responses may have shown.

You just talked about the numbers, which are mind boggling, but you made no snide political remarks.

We spend way more on Social Programs. That's why we borrow.

As far as not declaring war, seems like that hasn't been needed in some time. You might be right, but I'd say it's a seperate issue.

Only trying to bring to light how much money we have thrown away with the Iraq conundrum.

I think we need to give our home land security dept. more credit, they have done a terrefic job keeping us safe.

Shame and poverty will strike the Joes very soon.

I'm not judging anyone, I just happened to look in on
this post. Joe is the most screwed up "individual'
I've come across anywhere in RX.
I know six senior people four of them VETS who have
reached bottom and losing their homes within
past two months. It's the beginning of this JOE
war destroying hundreds of thousands who fought
previous REAL WARS thinking they would help this
country become a better place. The JOES are laughing as
their little coward oil monster heros destroy our
real heros from the honorable past. Shame on Cheny
and his puny little friend JOE. The really bad is
on it's way and The JOES cannot hide from the
rath that will seek them out. That is not funny! Nothing
is funny about your laughter, JOE, nor your kind's fate.
You are about 3 months from high cost security with your
little master heros.
