Yeah it stands out, they haven't been a dog for a long time! I figure its a pk on neutral field, so for 3 points for dallas at home. Giants will NOT lay this one down. They will GO at dallas and try to knock them out of the playoffs. I couldnt believe how many dropped balls there were last week by Giant recievers. If that happens again, dallas covers. If not, I cant see dallas winning by more then three!

Giants the last 2 seasons have always been a strong bet when the underdog. Buy the hook and you can't go wrong.

The only thing I can think of is the line makers set it there because Dallas needs the game a little more.
Never really agreed with that reasoning though.

The Giants are NOT a pk on a neutral field. We are talking the best team in the NFC here and Super Bowl champs. On a neutral field they should be -5. Now they are +3 to a team seems to be breaking down after every loss? Not to mention the Giants have played very well @ Dallas.

After the Panthers win and Giants loss the Giants need this game for home field. Just don't know how you make them 3 point dogs in a dome where Eli can throw the ball.

You think the Panthers will win in NY? You got this 2 game scenario backwards! Manning is going to get planted on the turf and Dallas is going to blast all out the entire game. The Giants are walking into a bear trap....if you dont believe me wait and see what happens. Now as for Carolina they will win again this week against Denver then lost in NY. The Giants will get the 1 seed and the Panthers the 2 in the NFC....however the Giants aint goin to the superbowl! It will either be Carolina or 1 of 5 or 6 seeded wild cards that go to the superbowl from the NFC. In the AFC its a frickin tossup...however I will guess that Ten escapes some narrow homefield wins and finds their way to the superbowl.

Why do people keep going aginst the Giants?!? Philly always plays em tough thats why I stayed away from that game... BUT given motivation on the Cowboys side will be HUGE, make or break for them... plus home field I say this one is a no play once again...

This line seems to be Vegas picking up on public perception of the teams. Giants just lost at home to Philly while Dalls lost in kind of a fluke way AT Pitt. In public's mind Dallas is better right now and will win. Watch as public money dominates Dallas this week and sharps pound NYG.

Right now the NYG have this huge distraction in front of them----Plexico Burris. Believe me when I say, it is magnified more in NY than any other city in Sports.

This distraction is all they have been hearing from all the reporters.
Al Toomer when asked after the game by a reporter about Plex being a distraction that lead to them losing vs Philly, he stated "What do you think?" and threw his towel down.

I wouldn't touch this game this week, with all the injuries on both teams and the doubt in both teams minds after losing this week. The NYG are now facing the possibility of losing the #1 seed, while the Cowboys are facing the possibility of not making the playoffs.

There is too many better games to make money this week, than this one.

Hello my friends..

Hopefully you won't mind but I thought I would toss my proverbial two cents in with regard to why the line opened at Dallas -3 at home vs the Giants and why the line is probably about right in order to garner equal action on both sides which of course is the primary goal of an odds maker.

Personally when I see a line that looks out of whack to me I tend to dig a little deeper as a means of seeing who knows what that I don't know...

....in this case its true that the Giants are indeed the Super Bowl Champs which makes them a public play from the word go, add to that the fact that they defeated the Cowpokes handily by the final of 35-14 at the Meadowlands earlier this year as hugh 8.5 point home favs and sprinkle in the Giants loss last week to Philly to go along with getting +3 at Dallas in this go around and PRESTO, the odds maker has Giant backers.

I am not advocating a Dallas play here but a look-see backward in time reveals that while its true that the Giants won the earlier meeting this year in New York and also won 21-17 in Dallas last year in the playoffs as 7 point road doggies (which gives them two straight wins over the Boyzzz)...

....its equally true that Dallas won the two previous games against the Giants by counts of 31-20 and 45-35 and in the big picture Dallas has won 11 of their last 17 home games in straight up fashion against the Giants.

We must also keep in mind that the Giants are without the services of Burress and his two compadres Pierce and Bradsaw aren't out of the woods yet with regard to a cover-up investigation over that gunfight at the OK corral business.

Does this mean that I will be backing the Cowpokes in this contest? No it doesn't because in the big picture the Giants need to win this game because the Carolina Panthers are only a game back in the NFC standings and the Panthers will travel to the Meadowlands to take on the Giants the following week for what could be a showdown for NFC home field thru out the playoffs.

This much I do know, the Giants have been fantastic on the road and are currently 7-1 straight up and ATS as a road doggie of 3 points or less, however, on the flip side of things these Boyyzzz are 3-0 straight up and ATS this year in games when the line is +/- 3 points and they are a not so bad 9-5 straight up and 8-4-2 ATS in +/- 3 point line games in their last 14 outings.

In my humble opinion if you are going to bet the side (which I probably won't) I think the way to go is to wait for the line to drop to -2.5 as I am pretty sure it will do and then take a ride with the Cowpokes...just my two cents.

Take care and be well my friends

Jim

Alot of people thought that going into Washington who were DAMN pumped for that game, Giants came out and flattened em... but I do agree, its a no play...

Hello billbeater...

Sorry to have to contradict you my friend but...yes the Giants DO need to win at Dallas as they are now 11-2 on the season and 8-1 in conf play and a check of the standings shows that after last night Carolina is now 10-3 on the season and 7-3 in conf play...

...if the Giants lose to Dallas and then lose again to Carolina the following week these teams could possibly end up with identical 13-3 records overall and identical 9-3 conf records (provided they both win the final week of the season), however, Carolina would have the tie breaker due to a head to head win against the Giants.

Take care and be well

Jim
