This game will be the turning point for the Florida Gators if they can beat their arch-rival Georgia Bulldogs in this high-profile (worlds largest cocktail party) game played in Jacksonville, Florida (a Neutral site). A win here would give the Gators the inside-track to an SEC (East) Championship and a shot at the SEC Title (LSU or Alabama might have a "little to say" regarding that). it is easy to see why Florida is the favorite when you look at the woes the Bulldogs are having to deal with (the loss of Chubb and that shellacking they received from Alabama a week-ago.....We'll see how much pride Georgia displays on Saturday. Me? FWIW: I like the Gators laying the (3')....They are on an up-tick and their defense is no slouch.

this line makes no sense to me. opened 1..2...and sits at 2.5 and a few 3s.

i expected higher....5...6. Fla is clearly playin better ball right now. just respect for the Bulldogs here in a rivalry game?

sdf. I hope u are correct and the line goes to 5 or 6. Then I am all over Georgia. Bulldogs rushing game should keep this game very close.

And, Georgia has a lot of self-respect to recover......This contest is always one of the great college football games played each year.

I keep hearing more suspensions coming for Florida but the more time out between The QB's suspensions the more I think maybe more aren't coming.

Georgia's QB play can't keep a defense honest to not stack the box.

This could be a low scoring game with a lot of Georgia's offense (Chubb) on the side-line. I haven't seen an O/U number posted yet.

I wouldn't touch this game for anything. No telling what's going to happen. I could go on and on with reasons. Just look at last year's outcome as an example of the team playing "better" losing....

That's what makes this game so interesting Coach........and unpredictable. From a Gator perspective, they have had a great season to date......Georgia, disappointing for whatever the reasons. This game will probably end-up a defensive battle if the turn-overs are kept to a minimum. I can see a field goal winning the game during the last minute. One thing is certain: The Faithfull will fill-up all the seats at Everbank Stadium in Jacksonville and all the Pool-Side Cabanas will be full to the brim......Gosh, the Romans and their Coliseum had nothing over us Americans and our Football Stadiums.

Florida's offense has a lot of problems. Someone is bound to completely shut it down. Anyone betting this game is truly gambling.

[h=1]Georgia QB Faton Bauta to start vs. Florida[/h]11m - COLLEGE FOOTBALL GEORGIA BULLDOGS +1 more

It's the de facto SEC East title game: No. 11 Florida vs. Georgia in Jacksonville, Fla.. Chris Low makes the case for both the Gators and the Dawgs.

Georgia junior Faton Bauta will replace Greyson Lambert as the Bulldogs' starting quarterback Saturday against Florida, a source told ESPN's Brett McMurphy.
[h=1]EDITOR'S PICKS[/h]Bauta has been the third-string QB behind Lambert, who started the Bulldogs' first seven games, and Brice Ramsey. This will be Bauta's first career start.
Lambert has been inconsistent all season. The Virginia transfer set an NCAA record by completing 24 of 25 passes for 330 yards and three touchdowns against South Carolina. But he failed to throw a touchdown pass againstVanderbilt, Alabama and Missouri.
With first place in the SEC East at stake, coach Mark Richt said Lambert, Ramsey and Bauta each got repetitions with the first-team offense in practice this week.
Bauta has seen limited action at Georgia. He is the Bulldogs' holder on extra points this season, but it is unclear if he will retain that task against Florida.
Both Georgia and Florida control their destiny in the East, and the winner will move considerably closer to locking up a spot in the league championship game.
If Florida (6-1, 4-1 SEC) wins its second straight in the rivalry, the Gators would just need to beat Vanderbilt or South Carolina to get to Atlanta for the first time since 2009. If Georgia (5-2, 3-2) pulls the upset, the Bulldogs could clinch the East by knocking off Kentucky and Auburn the following two weeks.
The neutral-site game has been played annually in Jacksonville since 1933.

Mark Richt has about run his course at Georgia.

Hiring Schottenheimer as offensive coordinator was a big mistake.

Bringing in the quarterback transfer who had been beaten out at his former school was another.

Georgia losses to Florida and Richt will get torched by Dawg fans.

Bauta is a running style QB. Looks like CMR is grasping for straws. It will still be a close game. No way its a blowout on either side.

This may all be true but Florida does have one of the best defenses in the SEC and with Georgia's "battering-ram" (Chap) on the side-lines it gives Florida the edge in what could end up being a low scoring game. But when "Florida & Georgia" go after each other in one of college football's great rivalries, anything can happen. A field goal in the final seconds of the game could very likely be the difference.
