I keep hearing the same issues about it. It's espionage, or the Russians are behind it, or you wouldn't like it if it were used against your party.
I think there is definitely merit to being wary about it, and the pandora's box it opens. However, as far as I know, Wikileaks doesn't use it for blackmail. It's an organization funded by contributions, and it focuses on government transparency, something we should have and are entitled to anyway.
It does make me uncomfortable that the Russians might be behind it, because they can be your friend one day and your blackmailing enemy the next. If you received intel that you were about to be robbed or harmed though, does it matter where that info comes from if it's deemed reliable? It seems the priority would be to neutralize the imminent threat or illegal action first, and deal with how you got that info later.
