The do-nothing congress will continue to do-nothing as the year winds down.

Each congressman will go home and blame the rest of the congress for his (or her) inability to get anything done.

The people should recognize that this failure has been caused by each and every congressperson - there are no innocents.

Our school system is in a shambles as the congress continues to blame absentee parents for classroom failures when anyone who gets involved can see that it's a lack of standards for teachers and students and a lack of discipline in the classroom where federal legal policy has stripped teachers and administrators of the ability to control disruptive students.

Our cost for energy continues to rise while the congress has outlawed the creation of new refineries and have limited demestic drilling for new sources. Other forms of enrgy such as nuclear, hydro-electric, wind and thermo-electric continue to be ignored. The congress has caused the problems that have seen this increase in gasoline prices and they refuse to do anything about it.

Our social policies have been a shambles as judges continue to legislate from the bench while the congress - who put those judges on the bench - does absolutely nothing. There are a lot of policies that all of us can agree on on as compromise to the mess we have now - and the congress does nothing.

Both parties in the congress are not willing to compromise on anything - except spending. One thing that the congress has done very well is earmark and pork barrel spending - they'll never let an opportunity to spend your money go by.

The congress will do everything in their power to take care of the special interests, but they'll fukk the voting citizen in a second.

This September, we'll have general elections - many Congressmen such as John Kerry of Massachusetts have opponents from their own party running against them.

For all of you, this is an opportunity to keep party loyalty while throwing the bums out.

I'd rather have congress do nothing. When they do something it usually is for the worse.

Henery Waxman has been pretty busy fighting all the blocks that the administration can throw up.

And that's my point - they're busy taking care of the special interests they're beholden to, but they won't do a damned thing while the nation falls apart - it brings to mind that old adage "Nero fiddled while Rome Burned"

No matter which side of the political spectrum you find yourself siding with, there are plenty of thing most of us can agree need to be done and can compromise on, from fixing the roads, to fixing the classroom to developing a comprehensive national energy policy.

The Congress is fiddling while the United States is starting to go down in flames.

Or we can celibrate a McCain presidency and 4 more years where we don't have to worry about Jimmy Carter and moveon.org being in control.

Try Eastern Europe while you're there - they love us.

And don't watch CNN International - I haven't seen such anti-American drivel since Tass went out of business.

government can't fix our problems only we the free markets can

they've added more government to education what has it gotten us a shittier education

solution destroy department of education

they've gotten involved in the energy arena where they give us the sham ethanol from corn crap they subsidize stupid shit

most politicians are flunkies that couldn't make it in the real world....so they moved to government to be whores for people who could...dubya a good example with all his failed oil companies

like they have any clue how to "fix" our problems :ohno:

GTC with the way you think you will be a loser in life no matter what country you live in.

You have a terrible terrible way of looking at life. Hey you like to pay high taxes so any of those socialistic countries will be just fine for you.

Americans on the other believe in the people more than they believe in the country. This is america and the greatest thing is it can awlays be changed back by the power of the people.

The people are what makes this country great not the government. The more they stay out of the way the better it will be.

You will figure that out soon enough. LOL See ya loser

The way you speak of how you HATE this country yet you have benefited from the country.

You had the freedom to go to school and you have the freedom to move anywhere you want. So what is so bad about this place.

Just leave without all the this is why I hate this country. Blah blah balh on and on and on. Please just leave you kepp on pointing out how you are leaving. Yeah we all know you are leaving. Yet you are staying till you get out of school. Are there no schools overseas or in Canada. Why not just leave.

GTC what do you like about this country?????????/

Got up this morning and had breakfast on the patio while reading the sports page. Cut the grass and picked up my dogs shit. Put it all in a bag and placed it on the curb where it will be taken away tomorrow. Put out a couple of T-bones to thaw for dinner later. The sky is clear no threat of rain. Later I’ll go to a local casino and do a little gambling with part of my stimulus check. Drink for free and maybe even win some money. After that I’ll come back home and grill those T-bones, maybe sauté some mushrooms and onions in garlic along with a tossed salad. Then I’ll relax and watch a little TV. Life is good. God bless America.
