Does anybody watch Black Gold on the Tru TV Channel about the roughnecks on the Texas oil rigs? This is a pretty good show..It really gives you more appreciation for these oil rig workers..As hard as they work on these wells, it usually ends up for nothing..Something like only 1 in 11 oil rigs actually hit oil...This is probably a big reason why we don't drill as much in this country as we used to..Finding an oil field and actually getting the oil out of it are two different things..And it costs about a million bucks just to gamble and drill a hole. Anyway, it's a great show. And pretty dangerous work..The boss on one of these rigs has already lost a thumb and a big toe. I keep looking for it to happen to one of these workers on camera..There has already been some close calls.
Love the show, but I think Mike Rowe is a douche.
I've seen every episode of deadliest catch, and think that this season is by far the best, with all the drama on happening on the Cornelia Marie.
The Northwestern is def a fan favorite, but the Time Bandit is the most entertaining boat imo.

i think i've seen almost every episode of deadliest catch...there's something manly about it....i'm not understanding how the time bandit works. The three brothers are now all three el capitans? i wonder how they split that up among themselves and the other 4 guys doing all the manual labor..
i thought that the north american crew (which seemed like a new edition to the show) was by far the most camera friendly crew during the initial red crab hunt this season....but a couple of those guys seemed to have jumped ship.
