themanej2001, just checking in to tell you to enjoy your last month and a half on the site. I am sure that you intend on honoring our bet.

p.s Congrats on your White Sox pulling into a last place tie with KC.

$108 mil well spent. At least the Cubs had Dusty Baker for an excuse.

This could not have worked out better. The Cubs win their division while the Sox are left to fight for last place with KC. And the best part of it all is that I am responsible for making themanej2001 leave this forum forever.

Got to give you credit for calling the Cubs division title early. They sure did look bad the first few months but got it turned around. Playing in the Central definitely helped but D-Backs are the only NL team with 90 wins so Cubs chances to make the World Series are as good as anyone in the NL.

As a lifelong Cubs Fan, i'm used to disappointment but at least we're going to the postseason. Need Zambrano and Hill to pitch well and for Soriano and Lee to stay hot.

Kudos to you and congrats to your Cubbies. But I don't think he was ever going to show his face again anyway after this thread. What a fraud.

Absolutey agree. Aram is the Cubs best overall hitter and the best in the clutch. Also, he hits for power without alot of K's. Soriano has struck out 2x as much as him this year. I figure he'll be solid in the playoffs no matter what but not as sure about Lee and Soriano. Need them to stay hot.
Could also use Zambrano and Hill to pitch like they did this weekend, albeit against an injury riddled Reds team.

Yes very true, do you think if the series lasts 4 games long that we will throw Z on 3 days rest for game 4?

If Z pitches well in Game 1 and the Cubs are down 2-1, I think they have to bring him back. They way Marquis and Trachsel have pitched down the stretch, I don't think Lou wants them starting an elimination game.
