I heard the interview with the kid who hit the 3-run HR on the Score yesterday. He is from Chicago and a big Cub fan and Sosa fan.

Bigger issue is they will not win anything with Hawkins as their closer.

you are probably right however, to defend dusty a little bit, dempster had been pitching pretty well and hawkins has been used a lot recently.

the bottom line is that hawkins blew that game in a way that really had to hurt the cubs' psyche. hawkins isn't that bad, he just isn't rivera, percival or gagne and that is what you need to go all the way imo.

With Hawkins as the closer , I can't see the Cubs going far in the playoffs..especially with the lack of dominating starters this year...the pen is pretty good but Hawkins is a C+ closer at best!

The Cubs don't really play the game well, they have a poor closer, they don't move runners, have little speed, the starters are still questionable...This team doesn't win for long, because they win via the long ball, and blow too many close games...

I still think they have the best chance of the WC teams...I just don't think this team hs what it takes in Oct.....last years team was in much better shape.

Boy has Sammy Sosa taken a fall ! .251 batting average and yesterday He strikes out 4 times and then when He finally doesn't strike out, He hits into a double play ! Ouch !
