As the terrorists of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) threaten Baghdad, thousands of slaughtered Iraqis in their wake, it is worth recalling a few of President Obama's past statements about ISIS and al Qaeda. "If a J.V. team puts on Lakers' uniforms that doesn't make them Kobe Bryant" (January 2014). "[C]ore al Qaeda is on its heels, has been decimated" (August 2013). "So, let there be no doubt: The tide of war is receding" (September 2011).
Rarely has a U.S. president been so wrong about so much at the expense of so many. Too many times to count, Mr. Obama has told us he is "ending" the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan—as though wishing made it so. His rhetoric has now come crashing into reality. Watching the black-clad ISIS jihadists take territory once secured by American blood is final proof, if any were needed, that America's enemies are not "decimated." They are emboldened and on the march.
The fall of the Iraqi cities of Fallujah, Tikrit, Mosul and Tel Afar, and the establishment of terrorist safe havens across a large swath of the Arab world, present a strategic threat to the security of the United States. Mr. Obama's actions—before and after ISIS's recent advances in Iraq—have the effect of increasing that threat.

they're just stupid people who only excel at being wrong in life, just look at the words their supreme leader chooses to speak

and after all his failures on so many damn levels, after his across the boards failures, they still choose to defend him as if they life depended on it (I guess for many of them, their life does depend on politicians, can only pity those souls) - (no pun intended, seriously, I can only guess when trying to figure out what makes them tick)

such defense is akin to arguing the Chicago Cubs are the most successful franchise in sports history and a lock to win the World Series this year.

such defense and unyielding support is as stupid as suggesting the Donald Sterling matter is over already, they'll be a 29-0 vote and Sterling won't even put up a fight.

some people are just that silly, while others are vile lying scum who can't pick their nose

When Mr. Obama and his team came into office in 2009, al Qaeda in Iraq had been largely defeated, thanks primarily to the heroic efforts of U.S. armed forces during the surge. Mr. Obama had only to negotiate an agreement to leave behind some residual American forces, training and intelligence capabilities to help secure the peace. Instead, he abandoned Iraq and we are watching American defeat snatched from the jaws of victory.
The tragedy unfolding in Iraq today is only part of the story. Al Qaeda and its affiliates are resurgent across the globe. According to a recent Rand study, between 2010 and 2013, there was a 58% increase in the number of Salafi-jihadist terror groups around the world. During that same period, the number of terrorists doubled.
In the face of this threat, Mr. Obama is busy ushering America's adversaries into positions of power in the Middle East. First it was the Russians in Syria. Now, in a move that defies credulity, he toys with the idea of ushering Iran into Iraq. Only a fool would believe American policy in Iraq should be ceded to Iran, the world's largest state sponsor of terror.
This president is willfully blind to the impact of his policies. Despite the threat to America unfolding across the Middle East, aided by his abandonment of Iraq, he has announced he intends to follow the same policy in Afghanistan.

This idiot is actually quoting an Op Ed by the Disgraced Dick Cheney, who along with GWB is directly responsible for the situation unfolding in Iraq, with their reckless, insane invasion of Iraq in 2003. Talk about someone who was willfully blind to the impact of his policies? How can one not be embarrassed to quote one of the main architects of the failed policy that got us into this situation in the first place? It's incredible, but typical of this low information dolt.

Actually, you pathetic little liar, Obama is directly responsible for the situation in Iraq.

Obama made the decision.

Obama's decision has consequences.

Keep cheerleading, you silly, stupid clown.

False equivalency as I blast Obama regularly on here, and don't live in a bubble. OTOH, Wrong Way has praised Obama how many times?

I wouldn't brag about being further Left then a president who is already too far Left to score points in a debate.

Obama Should Have Seen Iraq Unrest Coming, Experts Say

“It was very clear to people how bad these guys are,” Michael Leiter, a former top counterterrorism official in both the Bush and Obama administrations, said in an interview. “I don’t know if this was a tactical error or an intelligence error.”

Any question about the group's capabilities or intentions should have been answered when the militants took Fallujah in January, Leiter said.

in typical libtarded fashion, the Guesser attacks the messenger but ignores to argument, an argument based on facts such as the words Obama spoke and what's happening today

again, it's why they are what they are, and simply can't be taken seriously

just not worthy of such

New NBC News/WSJ Poll: A Disaster For Obama

Obama's overall approval rating fell back to his all time low of only 41% approving of the job Obama is doing as POTUS. And number of people believing the country is heading in the right direction continued to decline, only 25% believe the U.S. is going the right way.

One of Obama's selling points in the 2012 election was his handling of foreign policy. The poll reflects a loss of approval for the President's handling of foreign policy. Disapproval of Obama's foreign policy grew from 53% to 57%. Note: the poll was in the field between June 11-15 which means some of it was done before Iraq became a major issue.

by a 44 percent-to-30 percent margin, Americans disagree with the Obama administration’s decision to secure the release of U.S. Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl in exchange for five imprisoned Taliban fighters.

I didn't know we had so many Iraqi supporters here. Congrats Willie, maybe you aren't a racist after all. I just figured you as someone who wouldn't give 2 shits about Iraq. But then again, your masters told you it was important... so I kind of get your dilemma. Carry on.

You only blast him on Iraq, which frankly I don't agree with losing anymore patriots, so I have to agree.......so I guess we agree on one thing. The whole Middle East is a world problem, the only issue is the world is too pussy to address it....but wants to blame Americans for taking the lead when things don't run smooth as expected.

I've blasted him on instituting, and then lying about Obamacare, his stance on Snowden, the NSA BS, his ridiculous statements on bombing Syria, Stupid warmongering statements about Red Lines, caving in so easily to Republicans on taxes, Indiscriminate use of drones, just off the top of my head. I'm sorry I don't care about the REAL important stuff like him lifting light weights or playing golf. I'll leave that to the crazies.
