UAB at Miami odds
Opening line
Miami -16, Over/Under 48.5
Why the line moved
UPDATE 12:30 P.M. ET TUESDAY: FanDuel Sportsbook opened Miami -15.5 on Sept. 2, and the initial move was up to -16.5 a day later, but the line has fallen since and currently sits at Hurricanes -13.5 (-120). However, it's clearly not the public moving this number, as Miami is drawing 85 percent of early bets and 90 percent of early dollars The total moved even more, though in the opposite direction of the line, up 6 points to 54.5, with betting splits to back up that move. Sixty percent of tickets and 77 percent of dollars are on the Over.
This line is actually on the decline at PointsBet USA, where it opened Aug. 29 at Miami -16 and dipped to -13.5 by Monday morning of game week. The total, meanwhile, is on the rise, already up 5 points to 53.5.
Syracuse at (18) North Carolina odds
Opening line
North Carolina -20.5, Over/Under 63.5
Why the line moved
UPDATE 12:30 P.M. ET TUESDAY: The Tar Heels opened -20.5 at FanDuel and got to -22.5 Monday afternoon, and that number is apparently helping balance the action, as this game is now getting two-way play on the point spread. North Carolina is taking the slimmest majority of tickets, at 51 percent, and is getting 56 percent of the money. The total is now at 65.5, up from 63.5, with only 25 percent of tickets but a whopping 93 percent of dollars on the Over.
Early bettors at PointsBet USA already think an ostensibly three-touchdown spread isn't enough in this ACC contest, with North Carolina up to -22. The total has been relatively stable since going up Sept. 2, ticking from 63 to 63.5.
Louisiana-Lafayette at (25) Iowa State odds
Opening line
Iowa State -11, Over/Under 57
Why the line moved
UPDATE 12:30 P.M. ET TUESDAY: Iowa State opened -11.5, briefly touched -9.5 Sunday, then rebounded to the opener Tuesday morning at FanDuel. It's pretty much all Cyclones on the point spread, at 81 percent of tickets and 91 percent of money. And the Under is the play so far in this matchup, landing 69 percent of bets and 82 percent of the cash. The total opened 57.5, dipped to 55.5 and is now 56.5.
Line movement at PointsBet USA this past weekend seemed to show some support for the double-digit underdog Ragin' Cajuns. who tightened to -10. However, the line ticked back up Sunday and Monday, and the Cyclones are now -11.5.
Duke at (10) Notre Dame odds
Opening line
Notre Dame -19.5, Over/Under 53.5
Why the line moved
UPDATE 12:30 P.M. ET TUESDAY: This line opened Aug. 31 at FanDuel, with Notre Dame a hefty 20.5-point favorite, and the number ticked to -19.5 a day later and stuck there. The Fighting Irish are drawing 79 percent of bets and 88 percent of the cash. Early bettors also love the Over, which is taking 83 percent of tickets and 97 percent of dollars. The total opened 53.5 and stretched to 56.5 Tuesday morning, but that appeared to attract some buyback in a hurry – perhaps sharp play – as the total dialed back to 54.5 by Tuesday afternoon.
Over this past weekend, Notre Dame moved to -20 at PointsBet USA, then ticked back to the opening number. The total hasn't moved, save for a little back-and-forth on the price, and the Over/Under is currently -105/-115.
Georgia Tech at Florida State odds
Opening line
Florida State -11, Over/Under 54.5
Why the line moved
The Seminoles are up to -12 at PointsBet USA for an ACC season-opening contest with the Yellow Jackets. Through Monday morning, the total was stable.
Missouri State at (6) Oklahoma odds
Opening line
Off, Over/Under Off
Why the line moved
Because this game involves an FCS school, Missouri State, it won't go on the odds board until later in the week.
(1) Clemson at Wake Forest odds
Opening line
Wake Forest +31.5, Over/Under 60
Why the line moved
Clemson is ranked the No. 1 team in all the land, no surprise, and as such is a massive favorite over ACC rival Wake Forest. At PointsBet USA, the line reached Tigers -33 Sunday, then dipped a notch to 32.5 Monday. The total hasn't moved yet.
Texas-El Paso at (14) Texas odds
Opening line
Texas -42.5, Over/Under 61.5
Why the line moved
The number has bounced around a bit on this game at PointsBet USA, first going to Longhorns -43, then dropping to -42 before returning to -43. Suffice to say this is not expected to be a competitive game in any sense other than, possibly, the point spread. The total is down a point to 60.5.
