This story of Lurch being in Cambodia is not going away. Kerry has had the usual Al Jazeera hosts barkin for him starring James Carville and Lenny Davis as well as a thousand others, but they are not answering the questions. Why doesn't Kerry defend himself - he could, but won't - You don't want to put a criminal on the stand, if you didn't have to. My polling has shown that the Swift Boat Veterans for the TRUTH appears to be educating Americans about the choices we have for president. This poll has a plus or minus 59.436 percent error. Ribbons, medals, Cambodia, the dirty bakers dozen... Americans are beginning to get a clear picture of Kerry and aren't liking what their seeing and hearing about him and he definetly looks like a sociopathic liar / cat.

The Truth Keeps the Boat Afloat.

Thank you vets for giving us a little truth on the matter of Kerry's self absorbance. Kerry thinks he's Charlie Sheen in the movie Apocolypse Now. Kerry is one strange chap.

Keep the Cowboy 2004.

How funny the more they hope this goes away the bigger it gets. If it were not true Kerry could kill the story by releasing his military record. The more Kerry talks the worse it gets for him.

It appears Kerry changed the story when he turned in his mission report while filming in Vietnam. He has been busted and is in deep doodoo.

JP,

I cannot believe the liberal media has played the SBVTs all day. Why are they playing this story and they ignore all the others on Kerry? I'm baffled they haven't just buried this behind gay marriage or some other non-issue.

The right is desperate to bury Kerry on his war record, it is a subject where Shrub isn't even close to Kerry.

In huge areas, there's really nothing much between them.

except:

Kerry put his life on the line for his country.
No two ways about it.

Whereas Bush ticked that little box that said he wouldn't risk his miserable hide in SE Asia.

Kerry used unorthodox tactics in an ambush situation.
Then he came back to the USA and lobbed his medals over the Whitehouse fence...

The guy sounds like he could be a lot more interesting than Bush could ever hope to be.

eekster.

why do you think the media is running the story so much?

the SBVTs only had around 1/2 mil for commercials that wouldn't go far. the medias carrying the story now, i'm really surprised they are giving it all this free coverage.

The SBVT campaign(from website) seems to be centred around the original photo that had most of the skippers at that time.

Apart from that, there's nothing of real substance other than a group that say 'we don't like him'.

The other stuff is really just old wounds.
Kerry came back and criticised US involvement in SE Asia (saw the Jane Fonda photo), other military dudes would hate that bigtime.

Its a rearguard action group by the Republicans.
(For a war that's been gone for over 30 years...ho hum)

So why is the media running with it, stroking it along....

Because they think its an issue where Kerry can come out on top, and take the moral high ground.

The other issues are theoretical, (war on terror etc) since he's never been President.

In Vietnam, he had his ass in the grass.
Bolt the SBVT campaign to the Bush bandwagon (a proven war dodger) and create another stick to beat Shrub with.

From the GOP side:

Kerry could be portrayed as nothing but a political opportunist who simply blows with the wind.

Lets see if the SBVTs float strong this week.

Why doesn't Kerry release his military records and kill the story if they are not true, could be the claims are true.
