In your opinion, besides all the really big shows, what is the best entertainment in Vegas? Are there any really good lounge acts that are a must see? A really good comedy club that you've been to? The Hoover Dam? I am taking my girlfriend next week, and I would like to do some fun shows and things without spending $100 a ticket. I am not cheap, but we are on a little bit of a budget for 5 days. Any suggestions would be nice. Thanks.

Piano bar at New York-New York

Or can just people-watch, too (best places: Palms, Hard Rock, Mandalay Bay, Caesars)

I second the Improv at Harrah's.

Lot of people seem to love downtown for some reason.
If Cook E. Jarr is still around, he puts on a helluva show.

Most lounges have some pretty decent entertainment and relaxing having a few drinks is always nice to take the edge off of gambling.

I can't recommend Red Rock, it didn't do anything for me.

Definitely hit the men's room at Main St. Station. I'm not kidding!!!! It has a piece of the Berlin Wall in it. You would be amazed at the places in the US that have the Berlin Wall in them, and the shitter at Main St. is one of them.

Bellagio fountains FOR SURE!

But, if you only see one $100 show in your life....

Make it Danny Gans!

Have you guys been to the Peen and Teller show? That seems pretty good....
Or how about the Clint Holmes show? Those shows are about $70 a ticket.
Affordable.

Never really figured out what is so great about Penn and Teller. Perhaps I am too stupid to understand the humor.

Justin Tranz, Hypnotist at O'Sheas over by Harrahs on the strip. It is around $35.00. It is also a comedy show as well. He picks about 15 - 20 people out of the audience to be hypnotised. I got chosen, I don't believe that I was completely hypnotised, but I was very relaxed. It is a good show for the price. I as well won't spend $100.00 a ticket, which is why I ended up seeing him and it was worth it. Here is a link to his web site.

The Rio also has a free show a few times each day right over the casino floor, which is pretty cool for it being a free show.

Lance Burton at the Monte Carlo. The best magician in Las Vegas. Tickets are reasonably priced. In the $65 range.

There's always lots of good lounge acts around for free or very low cost.

As far as comedy clubs, I remember the Tropicana and Riviera both had pretty good ones. They charge less than $20 a ticket and usually two drinks are even included in that.

Not to beat a dead horse here, but....

If you just can't afford the $100 then, by all means, I understand.

But if you can... Skip the half assed shows...pool your money and go to Danny Gans.

Best show on the planet. Hands down!

Danny Gans would be at the top of my list also, as well as Lance Burton.

The absolute best free lounge acts are at the LONGHORN on Boulder Hwy............absolutely one of the best kept secrets in the entire Vegas valley.

If you like country music, you will want to stop in at Sams Town also............terrific country western lounge acts.

Downtown at nigth. They just spend 20 mil upgrading the canopy show. Its a freebie. The sportsbook at the LV club has bunch of mlb stuff. Owner was a big Yankee fan. They have the most liberal bj game too. Downtown has the most degenerates per square ft. There used to be a place that dealt nickel craps. A degenerate got hot there and won 20 bucks. Not a joke.

The old Leroy's downtown does close early, like a few yars ago.

There are 2 places that sell half price tickets to many of the shows in town. One of them is right next to the Harley Davidson cafe on the strip. The other place is right behind the MGM hotel and casino, where the Coca Cola center is located.

If you like to stretch your dollars, you might consider purchasing a membership to the Las vegas Advisor. $37.50 will get you an online subscription with a coupon book that will save you at least a couple of hundred dollars if you just use 2 or 3 coupons per day. There are plenty of 2 4 1 coupons in there along with some $5 to $25 match play coupons.

I always take 2 books when i go.

Goodluck, and don't forget to go to the top of the Stratosphere at night. the view is unbelievable.
