The SWAMP!

or maybe its 'The Big House'

no wait it has to be 'Touchdown Jesus'

Happy Valley seems to have lost its luster.

College Station, thats a toughie!

Lincoln? Gainesville? Tallahasee? Tuscaloosa? Miami? Blacksburgh?

Anywhere out west? NAH!

Its gotta be THE SWAMP!

Is to gaze around at the stadium, you can see things that the TV camera never shows...I like the SWAMP , the stadium looks so high and close to the field, and the sea of ORANGE! That place just seems NUTS!

It is Kansas St. with a home field advantage of 8 points. Boise st. is second with 7 point advantage. All this according to the gold sheet ratings.

Dante-

If you gauge home field advantage by the level of fan noise, as a MEEEEECHIGAN alum I can tell you that the home field advantage is WEAK. For 113k (including standing room) is it amazingly quiet. I've been to the Vols home field and the Swamp and those 2 places were 5x (well maybe not 5x but i'm using hyperbole here) as loud as The Big House. It is actually embarassing when you have friends in town from other big programs and they say the same thing.

With that said, the fans are rabid and fiercely support the team. So the players do SEE a ton of Maize n Blue in the crowd cheering them on.

Miami of Fla. at home is strongest. Take today for example, where else in the country would U. of Florida be a 14 point dog?

You can take all those power ratings for home field advantage from the Gold *hit and Pointwise and Winning Points and flush them down the toilet bowl. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to tell you Miami has the greates home field advantage. The Miami Dolphins won more home games in a row than any other NFL team while in the orange bowl. On top of that the University of Miami holds the record for the most straight home wins in a row (58) and now hols the current record for most home wins in a row with 23. Now how can Kansas State who has lost at home twice in the last three years and Boise State or michigan have a greater home field advantage? The idiot editors of all three periodicals need to use some common sense. Maybe that's why people buy this *rap and expect to win money. All three blow big chunks.
People should call each of the three editors next week and ask them why they are such idiots. That's why whenever they are on a public game they lose 80 -85% of the time. These idiots should be taken to task for being the idiots they are.

Honorable Mention on the rise again:

10.LSU in Tiger Stadium, with a quality coach and top-notch talent, the days of roadies winning in Baton Rouge are gone again.

Bama is the only school that has the formula( one loss and a tie in the last 16 games in BR, but so does LSU in Tuscaloosa, having won 7 of 10 in Tuscaloosa, and one L was a gift).

*Tops has to be Nebraska from a playing to one's limitations of late in talent yet still winning SU, but Miami has the streakand best talent(but many non-covers), and KSU's Snyder runs it up to appease donations from alumni(thus not on my list).

Neb's win over OSU last week, and last year over OU at home, and last fall's near win(a loss though) vs Texas, was yet another three examples of their prowess at home, even when spotting a talent edge, yet willing themselves to victory in the sea of red.

P.S. "Those in the know" that have been to all the venues, seem in agreement that UF's Swamp and LSU's Death Valley are in a dead-heat for top decibel factor, and UF's field is a dugout with cinder-block walls(cheating?..LOL).

Tenn and Michigan have the seats, but not the proportionate noise(must be a lack of oxygen from sardine seating?), & OSU is lacking proportionately here also from those I've talked to.

If the Detroit Tigers played their home games at Boise St., they would make the playoffs for sure.

Thats how strong that place is!

My top home fields ( based on not just consecutive wins) my criteria , crowd noises, uncannt ability to rise to the occasion at home, crowd spirit, karma, etc....

The Swamp
Notre Dame (always finding a way at home)
The Orange Bowl
Nebraska
FSU
Baton Rouge (underrated because they have sucked)
Clemson

I will add Colorado, Air Force because of the altitude, and LSU.

They have only won 30 more games than Boise St this year.
